Thanks Southpaw, much appreciated! I had couple of those favorited already so I know I'm on the right track at least. Kinda curious which pair you or others would choose out of those posted.

Here are my picks for under $500, both are pro pads and more flexible models, which should help moving from older pads.

Good luck and have fun with whatever you choose 👍

Glad to help, I know you said you preferred butterfly style pads so that’s what I looked for.

BTW good find @Isles12, those Vaughn’s are sick. That would be a hell of a steal

Awesome! I will check those pads out. Thanks for the response. This was more the info I was looking for as I wasn't sure how the newer pads felt vs the older models I've used and living in Atlanta I dont have access to nearly as much gear down here to try as when I lived in Canada smh.

I hear ya, most of the hockey shops and demo days here in NC are geared towards youth hockey...so buying, using and then selling gear has become a hobby of mine.  That's the only way I get to legitimately try stuff out.

That and I've realized that most reviews either regurgitate the manufacturer's marketing, completely contradict one another or spend more time talking about the pretty colors.  Not helpful when it comes to making a purchasing decision.  Just have to try it out and see for yourself.  Buy lightly used if you can and if you don't like it, you can sell and get your money back.

Ik it says 33+2 but the P1s had a crazy high boot and theyll end up fitting like 34s bc of it

I appreciate it but I went and got properly measured yesterday and am actually some where in between a 35 and 36.
