I know there was going to be a factory shut down for a big holiday in Veitnam New Years wooo! My parents are heading back to enjoy the festivities as well. Great look on the RGT customs! Also question for everyone, has anyone gotten "denting" on their cuff from shots?

Puckducker
Well quite convenient timing, but the pads seemed to have turned up at the store yesterday. Of course, the store didn't tell me that initially, it was only after I pestered them again in the evening that I got the reply "Yes, the arrived this morning". No idea why they wouldn't have told me they arrived right away. So hopefully I'll be picking them up tonight.

I've had the senior gear since day 1 of the release. Blocker, small tear in the finger connected to the rest of the hand protection (non index finger) this is mostly from tossing the palm into the washing machine. Lol Glove wear on T Pads. Wear in the thigh rise from rubbing and some wear on the wraps from dragging on the ice. I wear my boot strap on the loosest setting and don't have very big feet haha. Got a side by side with my current Simmons UL6's for comparison. For all the talk on pad width, they are the exact same width as my current Simmons. Looking forward to getting these on the ice on the weekend. I've got some games before before then, but I don't want to debut new gear in my competitive games since it'll take some time to get used to I'm sure.

What level shots are you facing? Two: 1: First day out with them, low level, puck hit odd part near the heel of the hand. Minor Stinger 2: A week ago, high level (rep players, no juniors), Puck hit flat in the palm. Minor stinger. Keep in mind I've had this set since release back in April and am on the ice 2-3 times a week with varying skill levels. This glove has been more protective than my LT90. I don't think I'll even switch glove brands at this point. Edited February 7, 2018 by coopaloop1234

RichMan
So last night I was glancing at some saved pics of gear and as I looked at the GT pads, I had a "hmmm" moment. So the calf wrap/channel is composed of a large velcro system. Unlike Pete's original gear and many other brands out there, I wondered - if at one point in the life of the pads, the velcro get frayed to a point where both part don't adhere to each other as well (even though there's a buckle present), does the user have to send the pads in for a full replacement which I presume wouldn't be cheap? Would a removable two ended velcro strapping system be more convenient?

The soft "loop" part of velcro is still very much intact. Whatever Warrior uses does seem very durable.

I have it on my vest for work and the fuzzy (loop) side always wears quicker. But I'm using it 5-6 times a day, for a 12 hour shift. Strapping for the pads is only happing 1-2 times, a few times a week max. And I'm sure they're using high grade commercial hook and loop velcro. All of which I'm assuming was wear tested for months before the product is launched. Plus who keeps their gear long enough to wear out the velcro!?!?!?! My recollection from when I had my RGT Pros was that the elastic/Velcro part of the knee sling was removable from the knee block (ie you can leave the nylon buckle strap in place and remove the fabric part). IDK if you can buy a replacement for it, but removing it would certainly make it very easy to repair/replace the Velcro on the sling at least. I will say that my observation was that the Velcro was quite robust and probably would last a long time. Keep in mind you should only be putting it on and taking it off once per ice time.
