When will the review be out?

Realistically an item should be worn at least a couple months before a thorough review is done. We (at our other site) don't allow reviews for items used less than 3 months unless it is specifically a vendor sponsored long-term review.

That makes a lot of sense. Usually you see guys put up reviews and all they do is pull the new gear out of a box. They rarely do a follow up after a length of tome and actual use.

We had some guy who wrote a fucking novel about products that he tried on in the store. He couldn't understand why we'd reject "such a well written review". :myhead:

Why does it need to be vendor sponsored?

We have a specific section for vendor-sponsored (aka the user gets the item for free from the vendor) reviews, we call "Long-Term Reviews" and often will have posts with initial impressions out of the box, etc. The idea is that the user is expected to check in with regular updates, so it's fine to have multiple posts in the same thread.

For regular reviews, initial impressions and the rest of the review should all be part of one post because those AREN'T "long-term" reviews.
