CharlieB29
@Pauly35or00 Yes, I have saved up the necessary funds to get a new set. I am thinking about getting a custom set because I do not like the stock graphics, and want to come away from all white.

Any ideas? I’d go with a FLY core in your Optik. CCM pads are stiff. I don’t believe FLY is too stiff and I think you’ll be happy. What glove break on the CCM? CharlieB29
@TheGoalNet I believe 600. I sent my CCM glove to FactoryMad and he installed skate lace pocket as well as a floating T. The glove is a vacuum. I am looking for a more protective glove though, that is easy to close. Maybe Brian's is good for this?

My comment probably comes across as negative and I don't mean it that way. What do you have in mind for the graphic?
CharlieB29
@Pauly35or00 That's what I want some help with. I have attached my team's jerseys below. Our colors are Navy and Sport Gold. We have silver on our away jerseys, but I do not know if I'd want them on the set. Let me know!
insertnamehere
@CharlieB29 at 14, do you want to drop the extra cash for a custom set when you're probably still going to outgrow them in a relatively short time period?
CharlieB29
@insertnamehere I am not getting them for a year or 2. I am just seeing what I would like for em.
TheGoalNet
@CharlieB29 - your not buying a couple years, it’s hard to say! Lots of new gear will come out between now and then. Brians is always a good bet and you can’t go wrong. But who knows what will come out between now and then!

CharlieB29
@TheGoalNet @Pauly35or00 @insertnamehere What is the softer line of Brian's? I do not want anything that will kick the rebounds out, I want to be controlled. I am a very flexible goalie, and want to keep everything close to me. I cover my rebounds quickly, and hate kicking them out! Thanks.

TheGoalNet
@CharlieB29 - Flexible is not flexible across all lines. CCM or Bauer are the stiffest pads you can buy. IMO, Optik FLY would be good for you. It might be a touch stiffer than EF3, but I think FLX will be too soft. It’s a softer pad, which is good for people who want that The rebounds might be hotter though. If you are ordering custom, you can ask for a FLX core with additional stiff foam in the thigh rise. That might match the balance of stiffness and softer rebounds you want. Personally, I recommend you keep it simple and just go FLY. The less complicated things you make things, the better As for the Glove, Optik Spec should be fine for you. Just break it in on seam.
insertnamehere
@CharlieB29I've just recently bought a GNetik, couple years older model though. I love it, best feeling glove I've ever worn. It seems though that trapper preference varies highly from person to person, what feels great to one person may feel awful to another.
CharlieB29
@TheGoalNet @insertnamehere Okay. Thank you both. Mind showing me some designs, like a set like Félix Potvin? I'm a young guy, so maybe y'all have some cool old designs in mind.
keeperton
@CharlieB29 I honestly recommend looking at the Brian's instagram page to see some of the designs people have gotten. Personally, I'm super into minimal designs and tend to use a lot of white. I should be getting my Optik gloves here in <2 weeks, assuming the date quoted comes true. Expect copious pictures. How can you catch a puck in time with your hand turned in like that? EDIT: Holy cow that chest protector in picture 2. That blocker is almost half the size of the pad too!
