Bauer reactor mod

I got a pair of bauer reactor knee pads for free, and ive been using since free knee pads are better than knee pads i pay for. Unfortunate they arnt very protective, so i found the thigh guards that came on my pads, and sewed them on, so i keep the same slim feel, but with added protection. Took me maybe 10 mins, and just used a sewing awl to attach them. I wear half socks(just socks i cut in half so they only cover my kneepads and leave my calf open for air) over me knee pads so they dont get caught up and i tape them to so they dont slide around

NICE! I did something similar with the inside padding from a Passau knee guard and the outside of a Reebok knee guard. Attaching a thigh guard is a great idea... best of both in a single unit.

Ah nice, yeah i tried using the thigh guards like you are supposed to but it made my pads under rotate and the thigh guard kept getting caught on my pants

Yeah I know what you mean. When I ordered my last set I had them included but knew I wouldn't use them. Threw them in the parts bin to be cannibalized at a later date.

Save all extra padding, including thigh guards. I have bolstered many items with the thigh guards.

This 100%.

I should share all the spare parts and pieces I have.

3 chest protectors, 2 knee pads, and some other miscellaneous junk.  Takes up quite a bit of space in my garage but it's nice to know I can always cut something for parts later.
