  1. Does anyone know if this is the final version of the customizer? It seems that it has changed some since it was first released (i.e. kneeblock options are gone). Also was curious to see if the back of the glove/blocker could be colored as well (as Crawford had with his brief Bauer stint)?

My P1s are 35+2 as well, and probably sit at least a half inch taller compared to the P2s. Lots of this difference is probably due to the softer boot and less steep of an angle on the P2s.

@Znowleopard@mr_shifty1982, unfortunately I haven't purchased a set yet. That's going to have to wait for a bit as life happens. lol. The gear I got to try was from one of my local hockey shops that has a demo program for equipment. I probably would go with the same size (i.e. 35+2) as my P1s are a bit big. But as requested, here's a pic of the gear I got to try (taken from their instagram).

@Simscityy how do you find the belly protection on the new combo?

@mr_shifty1982, since you asked about P2 reviews, I'll give you mine. I've only managed to use them for a few ice times, but as I'm coming from P1, it was an easy transition. Two things that you notice right away: 1) Light!!! Wow. They say it's 20% lighter, and I believe it. Picking them up and comparing side-by-side, it's hard to believe that it isn't more. As a result of this, they move with you really well on the ice and help reduce fatigue. 2) They feel much more flexible all over. Not sure how some of the other break options would compare, but the single internal/external break compared to the previous version is much easier to flex. For the boot, I feel that this is a great improvement, and allowed for a much easier time getting low and also in pushing while in the butterfly. In addition to these first two things, the pad seemed to fit a bit smaller as the boot angle wasn't quite as extreme as previous. The new strapping system is very comfortable and responsive, just need to play with it a bit in order to make sure that there is a consistent feel across both your legs. As well, the rebounds have gotten even better, firing off of the pads with greater ease. The glove I didn't notice too much change in, and still felt comfortable. The blocker again had a noticeable weight reduction allowing for a quicker blocker hand and easier time with stick/puck control. They added a few more pieces of protection on the finger tips, and changed the attachment point for one of the elastics on the index finger, which can at times cause things to feel a little bulky, but quickly forgotten about at the same time. The only draw back to the equipment that I tried was the speedskin. For myself, I'm just not a fan. I'm not sure if it's a mental thing, or an actual, but it always seems like I slide slower and have a more difficult time when I wear a pad with speedskin. Saying that, I've heard lots a good feedback about speedskin and it's improvements to people's game, it's just not for me. If I were to order a set today, I'd be going with standard jenpro. All-in-all, they aren't the lightest, they don't have the best rebound, or have the best slide on the market, but for my money they are the best overall performing and feeling pad. If you're in the market for new equipment, they're definitely worth taking a good look at.

@TheGoalNet Here's my experience with my Premiers. First I'll start with the specs I went with. Pad: 35+2 Precurve Bottom of the knee, top calf strapping Single internal/external break Recessed knee, wide nash leg channel, soft boot Glove: 600 Break, Pro Palm +1 Pocket, Skate lace (added after), single T Now to get into my experiences. The pad fits very big due to the steep slope of the boot and how stiff (even the soft boot) is. The boot does start to soften up, however I have not noticed much settling/flattening out with my use thus far (coming up on a year with light to moderate use). That being said, I love the way these play. Nice seal with the ice, big and consistent rebounds, excellent 5-hole closure, good rotation, and excellent sliding. Now all that being said, they are definitely for a butterfly style goalie. Due to their stiffness, weight and large fitting, they would not lend themselves to a goalie looking for a more responsive/mobile type pad. They new strapping setup they introduced with the premier is excellent. It reduces a bit of weight without sacrificing pad responsiveness. In addition to the elastic around the calf, and the way the leg channel wraps the leg, it allows you to wear the pad looser without feeling disconnected from your equipment. The one potential downside is that the knee landing is quite hard, and could be uncomfortable for someone that doesn't wear knee pads. Although this looks to have been remedied with the new Premier II line coming out. Next, we'll go to the blocker. There isn't much to say about it. It's a good solid blocker that may be a bit bulky to some, but for those that like the big inside blocking surface, is possibly exactly what you're looking for. The suregrip palm gives good control of your stick, and the blocker gives good protection all around. For the glove, I found the 600 break worked best for me. It has a more similar feeling to that of a baseball glove. The pro palm was easy to break in straight from the factory, and has provided great protection with the D3O in the palm. The palm seems to funnel the puck into the pocket when not caught cleanly, and the pocket with the single T gives a nice pocket feel when you do. Needless to say, the +1 pocket with skate lace is an absolute black hole. Overall, I'm extremely happy with my choice to have gone with my CCM Premier equipment. They play exactly as I wanted, and have been of excellent quality so far with very little signs of wear. I'm looking really forward to seeing what the Premier II line has to offer.
