  1. Yeah, I think you are right there....
  2. OK - I think you guys misunderstood - the idea of this thread was actually for me to talk about myself - don't really care about anyone else. (OK JK - love to hear about where people are coming from and how/why they took up the position!)
  3. Thank God there's only first-world problems on this site...
  4. So there's literally a lifetime of difference between us
  5. At less than 5 months to 60, all I can say is - don't tempt me In other news,I've already mastered inverting my goalie sticks to use them as crutches
  6. @bigeasygator - great pics - nice to get the pics on a regular basis In the third pic, looks like your D man (#18 or 19) got his pants from "blue light special" at the local dumpster company
  7. Heart attacks are an automatic in: Grump Old Men Club by-law 203.2.1: "Automatic admittance will be granted to any male who either : a) has a heart attack b) while attempting to pass wind in a public place unintentionally soils himself" Note that clause 'b' cannot be invoked if the candidate was heavily under the influence of alcohol (no need to start a stampede to this club)
  8. I posted an image of my homemade toe-ties somewhere on this sight. I think it shows the (blue) nylon sheath I put on there to take care of that problem (which was copied form the original "Flex-toe" design)
  9. On YouTube? I searched "IPv6Freely" which I think you used to post under and couldn't find any ...I see a couple of "MSH Summer Jam" but they are a player's helmet cam
  10. Pads are beauts! Glad to see you joined us on this forum. Now start posting videos again! (please

Well, pads may be getting smaller, but the last time I checked the goalies weren't
  12. Bunny: Mrs. Miller – don’t recall it but I will check it out (if it’s on YouTube) While it wasn’t quite in the 70’s, watching man walk on the moon July/69 had a huge influence on me and definitely moved me toward the career I’m in now. FR – yeah I hear you – those young ladies certainly accounted for a specific age range of the audience (present company included). I see clips of Barbara Eden in “I Dream of Jeannie” and think that would probably draw an audience today
  13. I just read them - and they are priceless!
  14. Also knowing a number of one-hit-wonders from the '70s never hurts either. For some reason that decade spawned a disproportionate number of them
  15. Awesome to see this thread getting traction Dropout: Points for most creative alternate yet highly efficient use of a Depends Willy: you will always get points for reading while on the toilet - it's where the old spend their "formative" years Bunnyman: here’s a hint – they should call Metamucil “Magicmucil” Mike24: You state a powerful case, and I now believe you deserve to be in, but you must refrain from quoting the ‘90s. This is not the “grumpy middle aged men’s’ club” – it’s the grumpy old men’s’ club. I would suggest reading up on what happened in the ‘60s and early‘70s with special attention to TV series – because they were the best!!
  16. Yes, those are valuable traits that show promise. I'd still like to hear a rant from him. I suggest the topic be why the price of both prune juice and Depends cannot go up at the same time. Bonus point will be given of use for the following phrases or references: in my day when we were kids depth of snow walked in cost of bread kids on his yard value of elastic waisted jogging pants technology irregularity people are starving in (insert foreign country)
  17. Hold on there @bunnyman666 ! You know from the discussion at the last executive meeting it's a sliding scale: the farther you are below 50, the grumpier you have to be. Now I realize that not everyone can excel in both fields the way I have, but @Mike24, what are you bringing to the table here? I mean, can you provide us with an example of a good rant that will bump you up in the "Grumpy"column???? Bear in mind with your low age, you are going to have to rant at a level that would cause most people to spontaneously combust, so, yeah, bring your game face and bring it on....
  18. Well if you were born in Campbell River you must know how to fish. Beautiful spot BTW! Yeah, well I'm all for reducing the ferry schedule to 1 sailing per day to filter out the tourists, but as I said in another thread, I'm maintaining my stereotype as a grumpy old man
  19. Actually, that's one thing I would like to see added to the profile thumbnail off to the side is the option to add your location (I realize I could add it in my profile, but...) If it were in the thumbnail it would allow people to know quickly where you are. Then it would be easy for someone in say Toronto to calculate the shipping on that used CA from a tender in Boston before he even enters into purchase discussions, or if two tenders were close enough to ask the other to sub etc... BTW - coop - you are just across the straight from me!

I don't know how a steel needle from a sewing machine would fare. I recall one of the fibers (can't recall if it is CF) is very difficult to cut with (regular scissors) and dulls them pretty quickly. According to wiki, sewing machine needles are made of " hardened chrome-plated steel, though certain specialty needles are coated with titanium rather than chrome." The other concern may be splitting the CF with the needle (perhaps specialized needle shapes are used?) Don't know if anyone out there has experience putting a needle through CF.

I'd say someone dropped the ball on the stitching and in QC as well. If it were me, I'd e-mail SFS with the pics and see what they will do - probably direct you back to Vaughn which may be closer to your home anyway. The crux of it is this is not a complaint because something wore out or broke (to which they would probably claim "regular wear and tear"). This is direct proof of incomplete fabrication, or poor quality workmanship - call it what you want. As far as I am concerned, either SFS or Vaughn should pay the shipping for the return if they want them back and the shipping back to you after stitching this,or sending you a replacement pair.

So I seem to recall it being said that the 1S series doesn't come on "inch lengths" but, as stated by TGN as "L", "XL", etc. (correct me if I'm wrong). But TGN, you called your seat a 36+1 - do they allow you to spec the "+size" with each size, or is that just an estimate on your part?
