Thanks, liked old reactor line (Cujo, Hašek..) when I was young, but no chance I could have them at that time.

Still I can not convince myself to send pads to someone else... It looks like they stay with me ;).

So after a long wait, here is my first ever Bauer setup. I considered the totalONEs when i was younger and went with P4s instead. I'm kinda glad I waited for these This is the white/blue/red col

Dear mods: can this thread be moved to the “goalie seeking goalie” thread? Coops and bunny (and maybe some other lucky keeps playing for keeps) will be better served by a dedicated thread.  Good

You actually didn't mention that at all. Not in your history of posting here at least lol. And many members here are in top of the line Bauer's (myself included) and haven't had a crack. Sounds m

Interesting, don't remember this last iteration

unfortunately, Bauer has gone thru waives of caring and not caring about goalie gear. I think this was during a period of not caring too much. Right now, they are all in again

What was the rationale behind flat thigh rise and round shin rolls?

Just for... nothing, design (maybe).

Never did understand the point of a double boot strap

To prevent rotation of pads. Yes, back in the day, rotation was problem ;) .

Just dig those pads. Probably would not not like them in real life these days...

They are old school pads and it is not easy to play in them, if you are not used to. But I still see some older goalies play with them.

Personaly I never played with those pads on ice - bought them some years ago on sale for a realy fraction of price (last piece of old school model, which no one would like to buy) to use them on hobby summer inline. Long story short - I was injured (ankle) before I can even use them and never play inline hockey from then...

So they are just sitting around in good nick, then?

It's the same design they had since the Reactor 6000. I am pretty sure they are doing it just to do it at this point instead of it service a purpose since the RX10 blocker was bindingless. Same with the CCM gloves where you can order them with bindings, it is an easy thing (probably easier to make as well) to do to keep some traditionalists happy.

I get why, I just think it looks silly.

Make sense to me on the Brian's Hertiage line.

The bauer lines are trying to be the epitome of modern and a binding is just was a waste of space

Don't think it's been covered.... what are the differences between the 1S and 1X skates?

I'm currently in Reactor 6000's and potentially looking for a cowlingless replacement. Debating VH 2 piece vs Bauer

1X will be a slightly different fit profile than 1S, and it will be a bit softer boot. It should have less depth in the boot than the Supreme.

Luckily, I've got a Supreme foot, so no worries here... but Depth where?

Given the feedback on the Supreme line, of not fitting the widest range of feet, I was thinking the Vapor would have depth and volume to accommodate more people's feet

From everything I've heard, the fit will be similar to the Vapor player skates compared to Supreme. So it would have less depth and less volume overall.

So I got a custom set of Bauer Vapor X900’s but the sport gold colors don’t match. I talked to a rep from Bauer and he said it’s the way they different parts are on the pad. The base color sport gold seems lighter while the vapor logo looks more orange. They said this is because the base color is printed and the vapor logo is cut out and placed on. If you ordered a custom set like this how would you feel if the colors were different like this?

Transitioning from roller to ice, it seems that I still drag my toe a bit. In roller I do not use a toe tie, but a snug boot strap. Ice I use skatelace with some slack and a loose bootstrap. What's the best way to stop this from getting worse? As you can see I put some Velcro over part of it but it only stays on for a skate or two.

Disclaimer: I haven't looked at all 34 pages of this topic.
@TheGoalNet's post on IG today (providing insight into an image posted by @bauergoalie) got me thinking... has anyone gone into detail (with images) on the differences between the 1X vs. 1S/2S strapping, knee landing, and calf wrap?
It's interesting so many guys opt for the 1X, and not being a Bauer guy I haven't been staying up late struggling to figure out which would be best suited for me as I play around on a customizer. (I just troll topics on thegoalnet.com late at night.)
