Has anyone played in optiks and Supremes? I'm guessing 1:1 stock the Bauers will be stiffer? most likely going to ditch my vapors and get a shadow set but i really want to try a set of brians and if I'm spending that much  might look into investing into a set of brians but hard to commit when ive never used brians before.

What i like about the Supremes, they are stiffer as a whole and the thigh rise is little straighter. They slide great and give off big rebounds. I know optiks are brians stiffer pad but are they stiffer thanx5/HL2?

I love my M5 pads and took a chance and got a set of X5s but haven't been able to get comfortable in them and feel like I'm fighting them all the time.

I'm also comparing Brian's to Bauer currently and would love anyone's personal experience. I like the performance of Bauer but think Brian's are better build quality and look better as well. One post I read on here a guy said his optiks had bigger rebounds than his bauers, and they slide better too. The thing I'm not sure I can live without though is the integrated knee blocks and simple yet perfect strapping of bauer pads.

I had optik / gnetik 4 and iconik and I can tell you it’s better build quality than bauer but my iconik is not build like my optik.

See I’ve read so many contradictory things that I think it comes down to preference and YOUR perception. I’ve seen people say Bauers slide the best and give the biggest rebounds then I read Brian’s slide the best and have the biggest rebounds.

I also got my hands of a set of optik3’s(off the ice) it was used by a fellow goalie at my rink and the pad was really soft and squishy. I didn’t ask him if his build was custom but it had MAX on the bottom of the pad. I was surprised how soft the pad was and could push down the pad pretty easily.

For what it's worth (which isn't much), I'm a chronic SLS browser and I've seen a lot number of Iconik and eclipse sets that can't be that old that look more worn and used than my old Gnetik 2 blocker that I used for a decade. I hope it isn't so but perhaps cutting corners?

But to be fair, most bauer sets I see there look like the leather or SLDR2SKINWTF or whatever is absolutely toast after "used for just one season" haha. On the other hand, the stiffness of my current X5's feels like it will hold up well.

The most durable pice of equipment I have is my old Warrior G2's, they look practically new after also a decade of use.
