im 15, and i hit my growth spurt already. Im like 6´2 165-75 but i think its safe to say im done with growth.

I can pay for the gear, I am getting a job soon, and I get a lot of money for Christmas and Birthday from grandparents which helps a lot.

as far as outgrowing it, i use a 34 + 1 and im gonna go up to a Large in 1x once the 2x line comes out, and the 1x line goes on clearance prices.

ive been using 760s and i find they have awful seal, and are too flexible for me, so im gonna go to a more rigid, but still flexible pad in the vapors

Fuck you dude.  Seriously lol.  I'm 35 and barely 5'10".

I'm a one set type of guy. Everyone knows I don't run around.

@SaveByRichter35 can attest to that.

Don't worry, Women will start stealing that extra cash flow soon enough.

This.  You wanna be happy in life then stay single.  You could also try being a gay with another goalie.

Problem is- one of you will be more sensible than the other but will demand new gear all of the time! I knew a straight couple that were both triathlon geeks AND gear whores; needless to say it did not work out for obvious reasons!!!!

The pads can always be somewhat adjusted, temporarily, if you grow a little bit (different strapping, boot risers, etc etc). Gloves and blockers doesn't require change with height growth. The only things you need to be wary of are your chesties and pants. just an inch of difference can mean protected and not protected in certain areas.

TBH I've tried a bunch of gear in the last 4ish years of goaltending, and found nothing really lasts more than 3-4 seasons before major breakdown. This includes the chesties. Theyr eally don't make them the same way anymore. I feel that to some degree, "lighter" also meant "less quality materials" for most manufacturers. That or the general engineering for wear and tear just were not well thought out. I just play upper intermediate level hockey, so it's kind of disconcerting that I saw the breakdown with gear at the rate it did.

FYI, this applies to all gear, whether or not it's made in Canada/USA. It's not really the assembly process that is problematic as is the materials used nowadays.

You can also do what I do: I take REALLY good care of my gear. Always cleaned, never hamfisted or thrown around needlessly. Always inspect and if possible, repair any potential wear spots. I then sell it ever couple years, or less if the right buyer comes along. I can usually get at LEAST 60% or more of the price I paid for. Then I go and get the next line of discounted mid or high end gear after. This way you never lose much money on anything.
