Scythe Posted October 25, 2024 Posted October 25, 2024 (edited) 58 here and playing has become close to a liability more than anything else. It’s still fun though and surprised myself with a few of the saves I made a couple weeks ago. One was a total stand up kick save laughed at myself a little bit. But this is the exact reason I haven’t bought anything new. Plus I don’t know how much longer I’ll be playing. So I’ll be nursing my JRZ Itech 10.0? X WIngs they just feel so right. Posted them here brand new when I got them a few years ago. Everything else: Itech catch, newer Bauer block, CCM AB c/a, CCM pants, Bauer cup, CCM cowling skates, CCM helmet and Northstar sticks Edited October 26, 2024 by Scythe 1 Quote
MTH Posted October 28, 2024 Posted October 28, 2024 (edited) Same here. Why buy new gear? Every game is possibly my last at this point. Also there's that - what gear would I want to play my final game in - angle. Edited October 28, 2024 by MTH 2 Quote
Fullright Posted October 28, 2024 Posted October 28, 2024 Totally agree. At this point, any playing is a blessing so learning/adapting to new gear is more than I can handle. Besides, pretty amusing when a goalie who has been alive less than the amount of time I've played says "dude, you're nuts". We all get there sooner or later. When I just started as a boy, I saw grown men in net playing without a mask. Now those guys were crazy...or gods depending on your point of view. 2 Quote
