As for the G5 Pro glove I’ve had it for a bit now and it’s the first glove I’ve ever tried that tops my G3 Was kind of disappointed with their “huge” goalie sale. They originally posted there would be tons of things on sale then it changed to 15% off, which basically covers tax and a little bit more. Good pick up though, I got to check out the G5’s finally.

I was honestly happier to have the whole store at 15% off instead of just some clearance stuff at 40% off. I was gonna get G5 either way so why not get it cheaper
goalie381
Last Fall I decided to sip the Kool-aid and try the Factory Mad gloves by getting these from the swap: They are now for sale to someone that has interest in trying something from this great manufacturer as I was so impressed I ordered this set which came in a couple weeks ago. Max27
picked up a jamie phillips 580 clone off sideline swap the other day. Nothing will dethroe my warrior gt2 but it feels pretty nice.

Is there a noticeable difference in mobility (or anything else) between the split and one-piece gloves? Obviously you probably haven't had much time in them, just curious if there's anything obviously different between them.

Perhaps that’s the practice palm (my first custom set).

I think it is meant to help push your cuff out towards your front so it is more square "automatically" to the puck, but I find it uncomfortable so I took it off on both my GT2 and G5 gloves. chile57
I believe you're both correct benner33/Teezle but are talking two different animals. There is an insert that goes in the palm/finger stall that serves to upgrade to a practice/pro palm = not velcroed. There is also a foam piece down in the wrist area that helps cover the "gap" from heel of your hand to wrist = velcroed.

The purple is the Velcro thing that all my Warrior gloves have had. I’m unsure what the red is other than the practice palm. It comes out of the pocket easily so I assume that’s what it is.
jevi3
Here is my current setup, Itech 961 restored by newimagegoaliemask, CCM extreme flex 2 pads, Vaughn Bibeau pro return ve8 chesty, reebok xlt blocker, Varlamov pro return catcher, which seems like a 5500 clone, CCM 12A pants, Bauer Supreme knee guards, Brown jock, Bauer Reactor 6000 with Howies laces and Step blades and a Senators jersey my brother gave me.
cuprajake
@benner33 Thats what gives the glove the coverage plus It pushes the glove out more The practice palms only come when you buy a new insert
chile57
@benner33 @cuprajake I'm with Jake. The practice/pro palm is a sheet of foam that fits within the velcroed in removable palm... well - at least it used to be back in the G2 days. Nice collection - we have a similar setup all around. I basically have the exact same Varlamov Av's pro return glove that bought from Sideline Swap - two-piece, break, coloring, graphic... If you've had for a while, how's the closure been? Mine has the "game ready" tag but it must have been beefed up in the palm. After 6 months of moderate break in I sent it in to Dennis at Factory MAD. Snappy now but definitely had some struggles prior.

This is my first pro custom set so I’m unsure what’s what all my other gear has been stock.
chile57
No worries - just trying to be helpful. Some things you never know unless you ask. Congrats on the set. Have been rolling with G2 gloves for years now (rotating through (3) palm sets) with no complaints.

I have no issues closing the glove.

Droner
First new pads in 10ish years. Was going to get a custom set of G5s, but was convinced to check out how the newer gear fit before committing. The warrior 32+1.5 is about an inch taller than my 32+1 V4 pads, but my knee is in the middle of the block so I think it'll just take some getting used to. Also the first set wearing knee pads instead of thigh wraps. Waiting on a set of Prolaces as well. If only rinks were open to try them out

ThatCarGuy
Conveniently my G5 pads arrived the same day as the prolaces so I got to wear them the day I got them For anyone wondering how I attached my TGN spec prolaces here’s how
