It’s off at New Image Goalie Mask getting the gelcoat repaired so I can have it painted. Really cool to see that a PC cage can be mounted on a 960/961. Always loved that tri-cat cage. Excited to see how this turns out for you. I have a similar mask, 961 3-stripes model, that i may refurb like you, but then turn into a showpiece model. Do you know if the PC cage would fit on the current model 960xpm? I have the M/L size and its got a few dents in it.
bildeer
@Goalline I would be inclined to believe that it does, as when I was on the phone with Dom Malerba of Pro’s Choice, he told me that his 961 version of the tri cat cage would fit the 961. I also think that the cage would fit regardless of the size as long as it is a 961/960 because I don’t think that they change the size of the cage for sizing for these masks.
Aquilzz
New stuff (again). Still looking for that "perfect pad". Lots of off-the-board specs on these.

Very much on my radar pending the Optik 2 release By far the biggest change was adding HD foam to the thigh to make it stiffer. The stock Gens really softened up at the thigh for me...hard enough shots could cause it to bend. A stock Gen4 (and Optik to that extent) thigh can be easily bent with just a little bit of force on each end, but this thing doesn't budge. It's honestly like 2S Pro level of stiffness, which might actually be TOO stiff for my play style. I had asked them to make it sort of a Subzero 3 "1" break (which was quite stiff but had some flex) but it's crazy. It also added weight and made the thigh noticeably thicker than a stock Gen4. The Blocker foams were stiffened. I had asked for the sidewall to be stiffened with HD foam as well, but I believe they either forgot to, or they just won't put a Gen3/Heritage style sidewall on the Gen4. Pics...Might be a little hard to tell on camera but its more noticeable in person. Another change was including a nylon Y smart strap. Kind of an idea to mimic leather strapping. Same material as the nylon webbing straps you see on glove wrists. Some other smaller changes like removing some graphics/heat transfers, adding a script logo to outer roll and glove backhand (which turned out nice), Nash Anchor T Edited August 11, 2019 by Aquilzz

southpawtendy48
Literally just went to Warwick to refurbish my ccm mask so I can wear it while my Warwick gets a vinyl... also finally made the switch to a straight bar. P.S. the switch was made when both of my cert cat eyes got severely bent from shots..
cwarnar
Minor mail day... Bauer Elite G Form knee pads. I plan to wear these under the Warrior knee pads supplied with my GT pro set. And I ordered the new Buttendz future grip. Smaller knob and twirl on the grip. As a Flux user I'm curious to see how the twirl grip feels.

I remember there was a pro goalie (I think in the AHL) who used them under his knee pads years ago when they were still the G-Form brand. I went with a professor strap instead of the y strap after testing both though. Do you have the hardware to try to add the nylon boot strap as a professor strap? And the top side has a rubber ring on the elastic to prevent slippage. There isn't one the lower opening.
creasecollector
I have these incoming. seller stated they are size 7-7.5D. I've only worn a single pair of goalie skates until now. right now I rock a pair of Bauer Supreme 1000's size 4D that I got when I was 12 years old (I'm 26 now). Stretched out like crazy and my feet hurt everytime I play in them for at least 15-20 min, haha. I wear a size 9, 8.5, or 8 shoe size depending on the type. So these should be okay? Hoping for the best. Beyond stoked to get them! Will update when these skates arrive. Edited August 13, 2019 by creasecollector 1

I’m waiting on a pair of the gnetik 4 pads myself (probably October). 2 questions for you, if you don’t mind: 1. Was there an up charge for the Thin Blue Line flag in place of the number on the calf strap, and if so, about how much? 2. You refer to Your “other gnetik 4s...” So you’ve already gone through a pair? Can you elaborate on the “got really soft up top” part? hmmm - I guess that’s 3 questions. Sorry!
