JDASILVA
Any reviews on the eclipse glove? Not seeing much reviewers content since it first came out.

Same, there's a few people here that have kinda mentioned it, but not super in depth

I’m a 580 lifer, the break angle on it feels slightly different compared to a leferve 580, but it was easy to get used to. The glove is fantastic though. The closure is incredible, is lightweight, wrist mobility is insane, and when open presents like a huge pancake. Boa strapping is nice too. Let me know if you have any specific questions. But if you’re a 580 fan I highly recommend checking it out.

As far as eclipse, I've only skated a couple times with mine so not too much experience and I'm coming from a pretty broken in vapo90. So far i like the eclipse it presents nice and big like a 590/600 but the closure feels like a 580. my vapor 90 doesn't seem to present as big since the shape of the pocket is more upright vs the eclipse opening up nice and round. one of my gripes is that the T closes nicely but I'm still getting little bit of a gap on the palm area. This has bee documented by other users too but i don't think there is any worry about a puck falling out of the glove. I have tried to get it too fall out but unless you are vigorously shaking your glove all around the puck wont slide out. Also, its not as snappy as my vapor but this might be due to the amount of time I've had the glove in action, roughly 3/4 times. I will say ive gotten more stingers in my Brians than the Bauer, nothing horrible just noticeable. One shot hit my fingertips side of the palm and my fingers were tingling/numb for a couple minutes nothing really hurt just felt it. granted we shouldn't be catching the puck with our palm its just working kinks out coming from one glove to the other. feel free to ask any questions.

Yeah: Going with a more neutral color scheme. That’s interesting about the gap in the palm, I haven’t experienced that at all. What have you done to break it in? Mine is super snappy and seals up perfectly.

Nice set looks beautiful! i get wanting more neutral colors, I would love a colorful retro kings color set (purple/Sp gold) but it wouldn't match with any teams jersey and no one wants to wear purple, no fashion sense. for the foreseeable future my sets will be white or black. i steamed the glove once when i first got it and I've done the stick in the pocket to open it up and used a wood clamp to close the glove and let it sit there. Weird thing is if i use the clamp and let it sit there over night its super snappy and closes perfect but if i turn around and prop open the pocket the next night the glove doesn't snap shut anymore. There isn't a big gap at all and it doesn't hinder play or catching its just there. My V90 snaps shut and seals perfectly but i have used it 1/2 times a week for close to a year now. The eclipse has been in action for 4/5 games. I did get the T reinforced idk if the extra stiffness is doing anything but since the T closes perfectly i don't think this is the case. The eclipse does seal the puck better when covering on the ice. I had 2/3 pucks slide out my V90 when i first was using it. The eclipse seals on the ice perfectly, no pucks squirt out. But with my True 580 I really have to press down hard onto the ice to prevent that, despite it being totally broken in. The True presents similarly to the vapor 90, more upright/oblong shape compared to that nice huge pancake look of the eclipse. I do the same thing with all my gloves with alternating propping it open and clamping it shut, but I just use a Velcro wrap instead of a clamp. I noticed the same thing that it was a bit stiffer to close after having been propped open, so I just made sure it was closed prior to skates. That went away after a couple months, now it’s totally snappy all the time. No reinforced T though. Edited November 21 by Toobs
