No idea why it wasn't on V10 They did, though. https://vaughnhockey.com/product/vpg-v10-pro-carbon-leg-pad/ I feel like people have been missing that Vaughn is doing this since they first had it on the SLR3 as a spec. I suppose they don't market as hard as Bauer on it or something. I feel lik 1 Quote
coopaloop1234 Posted December 7, 2024 Posted December 7, 2024 I don't coow Vaughn too much. But I was looking through the new catalogue and the slr 4 didn't mention it, so I thought it was new. Oh well. Quote
Toobs Posted December 27, 2024 Posted December 27, 2024 Got my hands on a set of VX1 legs to try. First impressions are that the strapping is a massive improvement compared to the V10. The boot is surprisingly stiff, as is the whole pad. There’s less flex in it than my PX3. Very comfortable and like the shape though. But also on the heavier side compared to my PX3s and Iconiks. Will report back after some time in them. Quote

It’s got more pre curve than the trues but yes it was very stiff…after my research I might actually not go VX1 after all, but the thinner thigh rise is amazing Quote

That said, I still like the FRS system better cause of the quick off/on system once you have the fit dialed. Don’t loving having to rethread the straps through loops every time. Quote

I happen to love the RRC straps in the V10, though I did have PAW make non elastic version for the upper calf. Do you feel less/more connected without a "real" professor strap? I tried moving the V10 upper RRC strap to the outside of the inner calf flap and hated it. Felt too loose. Quote

I hated the feel of just two straps with no padding or anything being that primary connection point with the pad. I also didn’t feel like it kept the pad in place very well. Didn’t matter how tight or loose I did the straps, the pad just kept riding up my leg and wasn’t comfortable at all. I actually still feel that Vaughn strapping peaked with the V9 though. Was simple and comfortable and worked well. Quote
