RichMan Posted December 9, 2024 Posted December 9, 2024 I know it's been covered here somewhere to an extent (couldn't find it) but I had to ask this: My sticks have a rounded toe and more often than I'd like, when I try to deflect an on ice shot glove side to the corner and I only catch the puck off the tip of the toe, the puck ramps up hard over my shoulder (or in my glove when lucky). I feel that a square toe would probably give that extra catch on the corner to prevent that ramp elevation. Has anyone experienced this as well? Quote
coopaloop1234 Posted December 9, 2024 Posted December 9, 2024 That centimeter of difference isn't the problem here. Rounded vs square toe will mostly only be discernable when playing the puck or stopping pucks around the boards. Deflecting shots won't really be noticeable. If you're only able to get the very toe of your stick on shots to deflect them, these pucks are already going wide and shouldn't be an issue. Not one that's replicated pretty consistently at least. 1 Quote

I know there is some user issue at hand on some occasions and I've yet to have caught it on film. It's one of those "ah sh#$" moments I can't seem to fix. Edited December 9, 2024 by RichMan Quote
DL42 Posted December 9, 2024 Posted December 9, 2024 its user error not the shape of the toe. u prob are poking at the puck or not deflecting the puck in an arch motion. or you are deflecting it on the short side when u shouldn't . and dont bring up carey price changing from round to square. the shape of the bottom of the blade is more important then the toe end.
