Just hit the unread content link.  All new posts since the last time you were visited all in one spot.  No need to go around looking for anything in individual sub forums.

Yep, I've been doing that since @coopaloop1234 blew my mind with that little tab in the top right. Much better! Can't believe I went a year without even noticing (or subconsciously ignoring it).

I had a thought about this quite a while ago, but would anyone want to see a "reputation points per post percentage" alongside the other profile info?

Grabbing @SaveByRichter35's since he's the last poster, my idea is dividing the reputation points by the number of posts. For SBR, it would be .198% right now.

My thinking is that it might help to get an idea (and ONLY an idea; a single stat of any kind can never tell the whole story), at a glance, if someone posts a lot that doesn't resonate with the community, or if someone is more of a stoic, Bob Gainey type, where they seldom speak (post) - but when they do, everyone pays attention.

Maybe interesting, maybe useful - but maybe not. Humbly submitted for consideration.

This is actually a fantastic idea, but I am concerned it will create some sort of popularity contest / hierarchy and I want this to be an open community. It's one of the reason I don't jump on too many topics, I don't want to monopolize any conversations. I try to stick to my own threads.

Anyone else have thoughts on this?

I had a vague notion of this sentiment of concern barely formulated in my mind while considering the idea, but this crystallizes that thought wonderfully. To my mind, this could be reason enough to not adopt the suggestion. I know that in my personal experience - especially in the early days - I have benefited greatly from the community you have carefully and conscientiously fostered here, and I wouldn't want to advocate for actions that might adversely affect this same community, and maybe rob someone else of the kind of positive experience I've had.

The information is already there, so those who wanted to do the calculation can do so - but on the other hand, NOT posting that % at least doean't throw it in anyone's face either.

Regardless, I very much appreciate the consideration!

My thoughts as well. I feel like it's something that doesn't offer any benefit and only comes with potential cons.

I'm seeing that more clearly now. Glad we could spitball and toss this around a bit - another benefit of the open community approach.

Cheers everybody! :chug:

OK – seeing as this is a suggestion box – here’s a couple:

First – and this is a suggestion more dedicated to the users - can people actually quote prices in either $CAN or $US? I look at comments sometime where people will say “yeah, I just picked that up new for like $450”. Based on the current exchange rate whatever “it” was, may or may not be a great deal (BTW, I notice our friends in Europe do seem to  always state whether their prices are in $US, $CAN, Euros, etc, so thanks for that).

I would also like to see all reps, retailers and/or or people who work in the equipment manufacturing business identified as such along with their thumbnail. I know of at least one person on this forum who works for a retailer by that person’s comments, but to a lot of people that probably is not known. To me a guy who works for “X” company comes on as a “generic user” and then holds a specific opinion on brand “X” to me holds a lot less sway than the typical user who doesn’t really have a monetary interest.

Seems like something is up with the post EDIT button.  I click on it and then the text just disappears but reappears if I refresh the page, still not allowing any edits.

I've been having this problem too. Not sure if its a Firefox addon I have installed or something else that's breaking something. Switching to Chrome, which has no add-ons installed, seems to work.

It happens for me on both my work desktop (Firefox) and my Android phone.

I contacted support about this...

I still say it's a strange coincidence. The Bunny is back and so is the Spam... who knows what types of weird dark web sites you were visiting while you were on hiatus!

If you google that URL, there's some people discussing it on various other discussion boards.
The common thread seems to be that it affects people who are using iOS and Safari.
I use Firefox on both my mobile device and desktop and have never seen those pop-ups/redirects.
