bunnyman666
Yep- I did it again! This time, the victim is a pair of Vaughn goalie pads. Since my cause is ulcerative colitis, these pads tune right into my disease. I went with a simple outer roll branding, as I did not have great luck with branding the face. Call this “pro” branding... I will show steps from Vaughn branded to Pooper branded.

bunnyman666
Lost an inch of thigh rise on the right pad. Dead simple procedure if you ever want to try it.

bunnyman666
Completed both pads. They pass the 10 footer test and cost me a couple of hours of time. Here are pix:

bunnyman666
A little testing in the crease (public skate session) confirmed that an inch off the thigh rise is exactly what the doctor ordered. A figure skater told me that those were “nice Cooper pads”. I told her to look a bit harder...

Don't go all "Aqualung" with the figure skaters; you'll be banned from the arena!
bunnyman666
These pads are softening up quite nicely. They still shoot CRAZY rebounds, but there is definitely torsional flex. I had some rotation problems, but those have gone away. Overall, these Poopers are a great pad. If any of you have been thinking of buying a pair of these V Elite pads when Monkey sells them on the Deal of the Day, you should buy them IF you want a nice butterfly pad with some torsional flex. Don’t be afraid of lopping an inch off the top if they are too tall in the stock +2” configuration.
