MTH
The mask made me flinch at my desk. Where were your parents?
MTH
So I was lucky enough to acquire the T4000 in this thread. I played last night with it - un-molested, straight out of the box. Absolutely loved it. Look for a new gear review thread this week about the glove. Edited October 21, 2019 by MTH

Cooper gloves, pants, C/A, Browns pads, Lange skates & Canadian stick. Yes that’s a Mylec street hockey mask. Only made that mistake once! Mylec plastic mask, and a player skating out in an HM50... this photo is remarkable.

sachilles
Just found this forum. I have a 10 year old that has now (against my better judgement) caught the goaltending bug. I need to get up to speed on modern stuff. Here is what I was using in High School and College. Vaughn leg pads. I used them up to about 2 years ago. I think a mouse repurposed most of the stuffing. I think I bought these new in 1988 at Sports ETC in Arlington MA, which was an awesome place to get gear in the 80's. They had leather toe straps, but I converted to string. Also my Badger Goal mask. I won that at the Bertagna Goaltending camp in 92. At the time it was the first legal mask for high school and college hockey. It separates at the jaw line similar to a real helmet. I think Itech came out with the current style used today a few years later. I don't play often anymore, but I still use it. Originally painted for use when I went to St. Michael's college. Seeing the cooper durosofts was a bit of a trip down memory lane. Good thing the internet only shows the images and not the smells.

sachilles
Found a few more The above leg pads, about 4 years of use then, and I still have the Brians Blocker and Glove. This would be winter 91-92, about 80lbs ago. The bottom one would be 1985 maybe. Sporting the cooper durosofts. Also had my first real glove, bought from Cupolo's somewhere near Niagra falls on the Ontario side. First glove with a cheater on it. Pretty sure the other goalie was wearing DR pads. I was incredibly jealous of the fine colored leather. Back when the chest protector was separate piece of equipment from the arm pads.
sachilles
My wife is the equipment manager for the local program. We need to purge a lot of vintage leg pads. Is there any place to donate the stuff for folks that appreciate this sort of thing? Some are older than others with some pretty cool designs. Dharmaboy
Been working on painting the leather on some of my Koho Gloves. I got sick and tired of Padskinz and the lack of product quality from sheet to sheet so I decided to paint the leather and going to see the durability. I think gloves are okay as compared to pads for wear and tear of the paint. Here is some of the work I did with just leather paint (Red)

CJ Boiss
Cooper glove I saw on Kijiji for $40. Were I a collector of old-ass goalie equipment, I would be all over that.

That first picture, with the Summit Series jersey... and the mask... my heart is all a flutter! Lol! Out of curiosity, why “the Big M” jersey? Phenomenal player - but didn’t he pull out of the series? And Pete, well... that goal he scored in game 2 is still one of my top goals of all time!
