Sure they can if they have the skills and desire to do so. I have seen fades and even graphics done with 100% powder coat. You just have the charge the metal so the powder sticks to it before it gets baked. I kick myself daily for not taking an old but functioning oven that was being given away because I could do powder coat and pre-preg composites in it and not worry about the wife finding out I did it in the kitchen oven! Note: have not done powder coating yet, but a few guys at my local motorcycle shoppe regularly do it to their hub shells, rims and other metal parts for their MX bikes and it looks KILLER!!! Yes Oreo cages are totally possible! Here is a good example of one of my many. The orange was a bit bright but won a lot of style points. I had the inside airbrushed white to blend in with the ice/tile. The white doesn't get hit so it rarely chips or flakes, the paint is also much thinner than rattle can paint. BadAngle41
You know you're a goalie gear nerd when... You have a missed call from a local number. When you call it back... you find out blood work results from your recent physical came back and everything is great. But... you're disappointed... because you were hoping it was the powder coater saying your cage is ready to be picked up.
IPv6Freely
Bauer is now making white cages for the NME! It's their new NME "Hybrid" cage, which I have no friggin idea what that means. I asked on GM and got this: Quote Chris, the name hybrid stems from the outer brushing on the cage itself. The outside is Bauer’s True Vision technology coating as where the inside is not brushed, giving more of a "matte" feel which reduces glare and improves vision. Maybe on the stainless version but on the white it's just normal powdercoating. I'm just happy because it means I can stock up on them and not have to buy a cat eye and then spend extra to have it powder coated (or pay for shipping to do so). I bought three of them just so I have them in case one gets dented.
BadAngle41
Blasted off the paint and powdered... $20. No brainer. Before... After...
