I haven’t pulled hard but not enough that I’m worried. Did a few butterfly drops in my skates with them done up and it seems fine. I’d like them both to look like the one where I don’t cross over but I’ll get to that.

Nakka30
I think instead of prolaces I might go a bit old school and just use laces, probably easier to fit through the holes and wont rip, and I'm used to laces instead of prolaces having used both this year. I’ll see how it goes at my first skate today but it doesn’t seem to pull too much. The GTN spec ones at least.

I got the strapping dialed in after about 3 skates, and the pads are super stable and slide very well at all points in the game. I also have weave on the sliding surface.

Overall though I had a blast on my first pickup since the lockdown. Here’s a good one I know I’m out of shape when I’m getting toyed with IMG_0062.mov

Quadzilla32
Pads finally got to me today and so far I’m pretty impressed with the quality and how they feel. DEFINITELY going to be some major adjustments getting use to them vs my old pads but they are lighter and feel better and more streamlined. The glove closed right out of the box and the blocker felt like a blocker. One or two issues I have noticed and not sure If they are “issues” more gripes from me. The pads are a little warped but barely and probably due to shipping and getting smashed in a box. The other is there is foam coming out of one of the under parts of the Blocker where the fingers are you can see in the pictures my old Simmons pads with the same pressure put on them vs my new pads. The Simmons are 34+2 and the warriors are 34+1.5 and when propped up next to each other the warriors are actually a smidge taller Edited July 6, 2020 by Quadzilla32
Quadzilla32
Just did some carpet flys and they already feel good and close up the bottom of the net really nicely. Glad I went with 34 my knee is already landing a little high with knee pads on bit I like it. If I went with 33 like was suggested and from warriors measurements the pads would be too small. Also thought that warrior included a carrying strap for the pads? No big deal they already threw in some knee guards. The sidewall on Warrior blockers aren't sewn in but are kind of placed in a pocket. You can easily adjust this to recover the end and it won't plague you going forward (or it shouldn't). Chances are you'll want to mess with the hand placement anyways to see what works best, so you can tackle that at the same time.

I’m pretty bad at not adjusting my gear and just rocking the stock setting.

This is my first custom order so I’m trying not to freak about the small things (noticed my non-pro GT2 blocker had the same foam thing). I’ll post some nit pictures if folks are interested. From warrior yes, first custom set and I’m excited to try something newer and with more advanced technology. I’ve been rocking Simmons for a while and they are pretty simple. the classic look is the way to go!

High so the board moved towards the ice or higher on your arm? ill have to mess with it and see my blocker side is horrible anyways so some adjustments might help me out. So I returned to play in my 30s after a long break so I’m unsure what other brands mean by high vs low. With Warrior gear (the only stuff I’ve used really) their high setting moves the hand closer to the ice + more blocker up the arm. In my last set I felt this worked best for me but gave the default middle a shot at my pickup last week and it didn’t go well. Can’t tell if it’s rust from the break or what but after adjusting my new one it feels better to me so that seems to be the ticket or at least what I’ve become used to. I have my next game tomorrow so I’ll fact check myself and see. Edited July 7, 2020 by benner33

They did with my order this time but I didn’t get them when I got my stock pair last time. You can have mine if you want I have no use for it Can’t wait to hear how they play for you. The sizing thing hit me last time. I got a 34”+1.5” GT2 senior set but I had to sell the legs cause I needed more hight for. Traded actually for a used 35”+1.5” G4 and that worked well and resulted in me trying something a bit different by getting a 35”+2” for my custom. Someone on this site actually said that was perfect for them for similar reasons so I gave it a shot. Time will tell but I’m happy with the extra hight it all depends on if these curve and break in like the G4’s I have.
