Peter36 Posted June 16, 2020 Posted June 16, 2020 I'm looking into getting a new mask soon, and I was wondering about the possibility of getting a cheater cage. What are the benefits of one? I know they aren't as popular as certified cages, but why? Are they legal to use under USA Hockey?
coopaloop1234 Posted June 16, 2020 Posted June 16, 2020 Cheater cages and Cat eye cages are both banned from youth hockey in Canada and USA. Cheater cage offers different and arguably better sightlines. Can't say I've used one but did try to get one on my last replacement but they were sold out.
jeantodt Posted June 17, 2020 Posted June 17, 2020 I use cheater here in Finland, beerleague level.. It has better vision when looking near front to ice and strait forward, than cateye.. My feelings of them.
