I can't get the image but just saw a few days ago on Insta some absurdly large percentage of NHL goalies are now in True gear. Something like 41%. So aside from them, who's still wearing CCM, Bauer and Vaughn? I feel like this happened overnight.

This one?

Doesn't specify what metrics are being used to come up with that number. CCM was about 28% or so before the split and I don't think Bauer's or Vaughns overall market share has dropped that significantly.

I'm guessing they're considering if a goalie uses anything True branded in those stats.

Believe these numbers were from the 19-20 season.

This place would’ve never existed if it wasn’t  for GSBB.  With Respect R.I.P. GSBB Long Live the Goalie Network

Quick should just wear his regular pads for the retro nights and see who gets the joke.

I think it’s from the True IG feed and has been making its way around all social media outlets.

Clearly states NHL STARTERS. Gear Geek is all goalies. Probably the difference

I"m obviously too lazy to actually do the research myself, but does that 41% mean full sets (pads/gloves)? Or just a piece?

Oooh - rookie mistake Coop! You don't ask how the data was obtained for a survey, you don't ask how the questions were posed or what qualifiers were used. You just accept the numbers as presented, otherwise the whole marketing schema we live by will have to answer too many questions...

So I decided, at the determent of my actual work, to take a quick survey to see how accurate True's marketing was. This is only considering STARTERS ;) and that's based off of who has the most games played currently.

Out of all the starters, only 9 goalies were wearing full True sets (pads/gloves) and one was wearing a single piece of True gear that differentiates from his normal set (Blackwood).

Even if we wanted to count the mismatched piece, that leaves us with 10 goalies out of 31 teams. So a 32% statistic.

I may be off on something as this was just a quick compilation, but I guarantee that True's marketing team is fudging how they come up with those statistics. It has to be the inclusion of their skates.

31 * .41 = 12.71

So we gotta find 12 goalies and almost 3/4 of one

I'm guessing they probably switched some people around.
Not sure if these guys are actually starting or not as I haven't really been following

Bernier - Detroit
Edmonton - Smith
Nashville - Rinne
Florida - Bobrovsky is partially in True

Bernie and Smith are the backups.

Saros has one extra game over Rinne ;)

Is Bob wearing True gloves? I though he was still rocking a full set of eflex 4's?

Bob’s setup is really ugly. All white true pads, ccm glove and blocker with the color zones from last year which already didn’t match.

Is anyone else tired of hearing Pierre Maguire blame everything on the goalies? I am. Although, I suppose I could have ended the sentence after his name. Ed Olczyk is the same way.

It seems to be a thing among the colour commentators who have never played the position that I’ve noticed with CBC/TSN commentators too, whereby they try to overcompensate for their lack of familiarity by throwing a few buzz words like “into the butterfly “ into a faulty critique. A non goalie reviewing a replay of a goal, and saying the goalie did X too early/late, and should have just done Y is like reviewing all of a skater’s shots that missed/were saved, and saying “he just should have scored.” I find it especially egregious and irritating with Craig Simpson, but they seem to all do it.

Living in chicago, I hate the hawks broadcast team. Jamal Mayers and doofus one and two blamed delia earlier this year for a uncontested shot in the slot after blaming for another goal where 6’5 zadorov ran delia over. Add Eddie O to that dumpster fire and anything over two goals and you should be out of the league. Except for Lankinen. They must like him cuz they suck him off every night

In fairness, I've watched more Hawks games this year than just about any other team outside my Wings, and Lankinen has been the number one reason that team has had any success.  He's damn good!

Don’t get me wrong, I know lankinen is good but the announcer hated on Delia so bad and he really played pretty well they just threw him in to a bunch of games where the team played awful for him

I agree.  I have always thought that is the number one downfall of the DigiPrint stuff from Bauer.  I present Exhibit A.

The Digi-Print has definitely come a long way from it's first iterations.

I remember a lot of the earlier stuff having a very washed out look to them like the Anderson ones above. Even these black ones from The Hockey Shop were very washed out in person.

They've definitely improved on fine tuning their saturation on the pads.
