That ruse only works for a couple of years. When they see more gear accumulating and don't see any cash rolling in, they start asking questions, and the jig is up.

Get rid of some of the gear, and show the money you've made from it, and it actually can then be considered investing. 

If you know how to fix stuff, you can market that service and earn some extra cash that way.

Yea, we're past that, when it comes to buying stuff, we've moved on to a "don't ask, don't tell" policy

You older guys are lucky, I'm guessing the wife and kids don't want to come to your games anymore so it's easier to hide new colors
