Protechsport Mask Thread

@BadAngle41 and @TheGoalNet :  As requested, my tribute to the full-Fibrosport masks worn by Jacques Plante and Bernie Parent in 1971-72.

Research photos followed by tribute mask.

Protechsport faux-label with Michel's signature and Laval, Quebec done to pay homage to Jacques' original sticker.  Also, "weathered" to show fiberglass weave and rust stains suggesting a "garage-sale find."

they look like cages for an Eddy Mask.

This is an Eddy cage. Pretty similar but the perimeter wire is one piece and has one weld mid way up the side

The cage Michel uses has a perimeter wire thats made up of four pieces and is welded at the top and bottom of each side. This is how Harrison did it back in the day. Probably a carry over from when his masks just had cut down HM30s

@FIFTY-SIX, that blue mask is a beauty. Thats how all paint should be.

Thank you for sharing the research as well as close ups on the paint job itself. It's amazing. I love the detail on the shown fiberglass and the "garage-sale find" as you out it. Well thought out and executed.

I've had my mask sine 02/2011

Still going strong, the padding in my backplate has shown signs of lifting, and i am thinking of refurbishing it, just to refresh it a bit, but I will never change masks, or go to any other company for my mask needs.

I am lucky to live 20 minutes by car from him.

I just found an image from GSBB I had posted when i first go it! Wow!

Had my Brodeur model that was built in 2014 refurbished by Michel and it's absolutely gorgeous.  All new foam, harness, snaps and buckles.  Also had it repainted from a glossy navy blue to the matte white.  Love it!

How long did it take for Michel to refurb it? I've got my old Theodore-model mask from 2010 that has been sitting around since 2016 that is in need of some TLC...

About 4 weeks total with the shipping from Ontario.

Anyone have a picture of the inside of the backplate with the hidden straps? Trying to decide how important that is. I am used to straps on the outside.

On my 11th year in a Protech Kevlar...feeling like it's time to add to the family. I'm thinking the Potvin Harrison look if I can fit it, otherwise a late 90's-00's Lefebvre. Murdered out.

Placed my order! Michel's lead time is currently 24-25 weeks, so I'm looking at a December delivery realistically...

Wow, That is crazy!

Obviously worth the wait, but that is really getting out there
