Just thought I'd shout out a little break through I had with my Pro G6.1 glove. Some people complain of fingers slipping when closing the glove and I've got the same issue. First, to me it's not much of an issue as it's still arguably the easiest stock glove to close anyway, but I think I figured something out. I simply slipped on a thin latex glove and the grippy texture did stop the majority of the slipping and felt nice. I know it's weird, and I'm not sure if it would work in a game with all the sweat but I'm going to test it out.

Overall the discovery made me more open to getting an actual inner glove like lizard skins or even just a golf glove maybe. Also I can imagine if you have smaller hands like mine that the custom intermediate liner would also help greatly.

Lastly, there's been so much talk of the 580 style gloves and gear durability being exclusive to True and Vaughn and maybe Brian's and I thought I would throw Warrior's name back in the conversation. First, the 7.1 or 6.1 line really is close to a 580, though of course it will feel different from a True 580. I'm sure the 90 degree liner would only make that the glove feel more so like a 580. My thumb is nearly straight up and my fingers pretty much close to the palm. It's also a puck vacuum and presents huge better than a typical 580. Secondly, the Warrior gloves are the only that I've seen that have a bindingless design, and in my experience is's always the outer perimeter lacing that wears out first and looks terrible and has to be replaced. Just by it's design, the warrior glove eliminates this wear issue. Also the jenpro leather is thick and has a beautiful high sheen to it and I can tell a huge difference in quality compared to my bauer jenpro (senior level) which is dull and mars easily. The tee is strong but flexible to help with closure and even after a year of use the t-pocket is still deep and rounded. I can't imagine any durability or protection issues with this glove.

Of course it all comes down to user preference, but I just wonder how many people pass on even trying this beauty of a glove just because Warrior isn't in the NHL, or have like any company has had some bad apples from time to time. Alright, rant over. Happy gear hunting everyone!

My concern is the contrast between the blue and black…will the blue line be visible or will they just blur together?

I think it's a sweet design. Subtlety over flashiness can been nice too. Even if they do blend together at a distance, the more people look they'll begin to notice the differences.

Plus in a brightly lit up rink I think it won't be too hard to see the different shades. Also, just a two cents thing, nobody will care even a tiny fraction of the amount that you care about how your pads look... so do what you like the most.

I’ve been using a 7.1 with a 90 degree liner the last couple months. It’s not a bad glove. It closes easy, and I can catch with it. Puck handling isn’t bad.
But having used 580 breaks for the last decade or so from various makers from Lefebvre to Bauer. The Warrior doesn’t feel close to a 580. But as I said the Warrior is not a bad glove. And at the same time the 580 doesn’t solve all problems either.

I'll give you that. Of the 580 styles, it's probably the least 580-ish without that extreme overlap closure. It is technically a 75 degree break. Maybe it's just my small hand and the way it fits me. I don't use the thumb loop at all and my thumb can comfortable sit in that thumbs up 580 style position. And the way I've broken it in, (weights and clamps, torture pretty much) it actually does have a slight overlap closure in the tee. Haha maybe I've just willed it into being a 90-degree glove against it's wishes, like a left handed kid in the 50's.

Am I the only one who's annoyed as hell with their graphic design?! No matter how much I fiddle with the customizer, I can't seem to make it look good to me. It almost always looks like a stealth plane 🙄
