  3. Ah before Roy went Koho for life. Any anyone remember when Roy had a big 33 on that Ferland Blocker?

  4. Agreed on the “more colour “ - but still like the set as-is. That said, I’m thrilled to be all Brian’s! Not that I’ve played since March 13th or anything... 😕

  5. I’ll be interested to hear what you think! I’m considering doing “dry February”... might need some of these for when the non-alcoholic Beck’s won’t cut it. En passant, I think you like sweet/milk stouts...? If so, you’d love the Chocolate Manifesto (available in cans at LCBO now)

  6. Lol yes the L was important! just as much as the crosshairs on the O of the word Revolution.

  7. Of course! He actually stuck with the Ferland blocker for quite a long time, IIRC. And the Lefebvre (with a “b”) pads, branded with the simple “L” logo on the thigh rise - an important detail when drawing Roy as a kid 😉

  8. ...of course, one of the least goalie-looking NHL goalies (for a single game) has to be Lester Patrick.

  9. So even though he was one of the biggest reasons I became interested in goaltending, Roy as a rookie looked ridiculous. I mean, he looks like a kid wearing his dad’s gear or something!

  10. Yes!! I also just love Allen’s mask! It is reminiscent of the iconic Harrison designs of the 90s, where sharp contrasts, bright colours and recognizable imagery were masterfully harmonized. Ah, the good old days... lol! On the topic of Allen and his perhaps-unintended nods to the past, how about the subtle brand mixing? At a glance, it looks like he’s got a True set with simple red design - but he’s rocking a Brian’s trapper! Of course this makes me think of another Habs goalie who went Brian’s (and Heaton) for his trappers...

  12. My good old days was the 21 team league. Where all but 5 teams made the playoffs.

  13. Leafs Training Camp 1964. These 2 HOF dudes did look like goalies from the maskless era.

  14. Roger Crozier is a legend. But at the end of his run in the NHL, he looked totally different that any kid in the league today:
