  1. Filling void between the player's shin and calf wedge is something old made new again. The idea was on the CCM Blockade (maybe even earlier) and is making its rounds again with a lot of the recent pads hitting the market - off the top of my head, I can think of the True/Lefevre 20.1, CCM Axis, various Brian's models, and the Bauer Hyperlite. While the biomechanical discussion is interesting, I'd say it is pretty difficult for us to comment on specifically, unless anyone here has the correct background.   5. Lol. I can count on one finger the amount of times I have taken a puck in that vicinity. My five hole is completely shut when I am in my butterfly. The one time I took a puck there was a weird scramble and it just snuck through somehow. Until I start losing my flare I just don't feel the need to wear them...yet lol.

  6. I meant the lacing. I lace my skates up tight, but I see alot of new/younger goalies leave their laces very loose, which I really don't understand. I always thought ankle support was a good thing, but maybe today it's not. I don't know. I just do my own thing
