  1. Dark makes sense for the road team, you're travelling and not always keeping them in pristine shape, ie. getting dirty and not washing them all the time. I think the reason for the switch to dark for home was to have more "colorful" jerseys for the home fans, but I've always like the white jerseys better anyway. So I'm with you, they should have left it as it was and kept the dark jerseys for the road.

  2. Nice, that sounds good. Looking forward to seeing the final product. I am handing off my new Sportmask this coming Tuesday for my Rinne tribute paintjob (hopefully....we shall see. I'm technically not a "client" of the artist so I'm still feeling awkward about how specific or rigid I should be). Anyway, I like to sketch out concepts and element choreography so here's what I just came up with. A red monster wearing a mask made of bone Inspired by this mask For my last mask it went from this To this So we shall see. One think you can NOT accuse me of is lacking vision

  4. I have a couple of new items. A bucket list mask - A NOS Mike Richter Cubberly shell purchased from Ed directly and finished by Ray at New Image. I'm going to wear it tonight. And a Corey Crawford Kenesky chesty.

  5. Not every place switched to dark for home when the NHL did. I still think it's weird.

  9. first game since early March. I was nervous in the early part of the game and it showed on the first goal when I backed in too deep too early thinking it was going to be a pass and I got beat high short side. Overall I settled in and felt ok by the end, good to get a win in the first game back.

  11. Alright well the expansion lists are out and here's what I see as intriguing for goalies. Based on just my personal favorites, names/gear I am drawn to here is the my stand out list going down through the teams: Antti Raanta-Arizona Jaro Halak-Boston Petr Mrazek-Carolina Chris Driedger-Florida Jonathan Quck-Los Angeles Carey Price-Montreal Casey Desmith-Pittsburgh David Rittich-Toronto Vitek Vanecek-Washington Here are my 2 real scenarios that I like with 3 goalies: 1. Carey Price, Chris Driedger, Vitek Vanecek 2. Chris Driedger, Petr Mrazek, Vitek Vanecek And a third scenario that will never happen, but I like just because I enjoy these guys: 3. Jaro Halak, Jonathan Quick, Petr Mrazek Word on the street is Driedger is a done deal, he's coming to Seattle. The biggest most looming question is of course: Can/Should we afford Price? At 10M+ and his 11M bonus due this year, he is insanely expensive right now in particular. Seems like the general consensus is no matter how it pans out, Seattle is going to get 3 solid goalies as the depth of the available selections is strong. Other than goalies, my wish list is Max Domi, Vladimir Tarasenko, and Gabriel Landeskog. Can't wait to see this all unfold on Wednesday.

  12. I went out Wednesday last week and last night to take some shots.. I suck.. a lot of it is age but a lot of it is lack of coaching.. i never had any. I can say it doesn't bother me but someplace inside it does when I miss easy shots.. ☹ I sometimes question why I still do it.. I guess I'm better than no goalie showing up 🙂 I know about 10 things I could do right now to be better but to be honest I'm just not that motivated anymore to do them.

  14. The less said about the first period the better, but I came up big in the second and third and we eked out a 7-6 win.

  17. That walking foot attachment is key, frankly. Binding ribbon itself is pretty lightweight, but when it gets folded is when it gets hard to puncture for a stitch. I do have several binding folders at my disposal now, though I have not tested these out yet. My wife would kill me if I wrecked her Kenmore (more than likely a Singer in disguise), so I am trying to get something more stout.

  18. I ended up going with the Russian Spec just because I'm 50+ and can afford it now. I was coming from a loose and no longer fitting 30 year old JB551 and while the first try or two was a little awkward, the thing is like a second skin now. I do not notice any limitations in stick handling, but one review said it was heavy, and it is...when it's not on you. But slide into that gorgeous design and I don't sense any weight. However, you cannot easily reach your face since the forearm and bicep shells prevent your elbow from bending far enough (and John notes this in his instructions). Even though I'm level 3 beer league (got the belly lengthened for the extra belly real estate and the arms shorted for my stand up style), I'm glad for the extra protection whether the Russian Specs saved me or not. High chest shots are loud but harmless, arm shots are wonderfully insulated, and shoulder shots just beautifully glance up and off. I love the 2400.
