Here is a look at my very orange Bauer Vapor 1X pads and gloves...

If you can get quality and performance out of a pad without going the Bauer route I hope companies stay course. You don't always need crazy fancy materials to make a good pad, Brians and CCM are evident with this with Primo and Speedskin.

I haven't noticed a difference between the 2 sizing regs so far.

    I can get on this.
  5. Where is the game play footage? Also at least they are in the same zone haha.

Might have spoke too soon... I have to admit... not totally in love with them though. I think they work best with 4 colours rather than 3.

I usually like the CCM customizers... but I think the Premier 2 one is pretty bad. I like how you can do some very plain pads with different options (like Crawfords and Talbots), but I feel the overall design choices don't allow colours to flow very well. I can't for the life of me come up with a design I really like.
  9. They are adjustable on both sides, you make sure those are in the same place before changing the strap sizes? I ask because I know a lot of people aren't aware of that.

A little late... but I had this problem, put the boot strap on and it worked perfectly. Doesn't even have to be tight it just needs to be there. I love the stretchy toe ties, you don't have to put slack in them and my ankles have thanked me from moving to those.
  11. If they put the D logo instead of "Ducks" those jerseys would be an improvement over what they have today, boring but still better. I still think they should've made the Stadium ones a permanent alternate, but make the stripes continue on the arms. Both of those jerseys are actually pretty nice. The Kings one would look great without the white shells, just hard to do a half grey half white jersey for the regular season.
  12. Anaheim and the Coyotes are the only teams that should be selected on this list. The other teams can have a meh jersey but that doesn't make them awful. Oilers jerseys are actually great and they hearken back to the WHL days and the contrasting shoulder yokes and body of the jersey look fantastic, the perforated numbers work really well on these as well. Avalanche new jerseys are throwbacks to their cup years and are a huge improvement. They are unique and the colours work well, only issue is the boring black gloves and pants. Ducks webbed D logo is actually solid, but people just like the eggplant jersey and logo. The jersey itself is a mess and doesn't work well with their colour choices, it looks good on a minor league team with more contrasting colours. Just go back to eggplant, but they won't because the orange is for Orange County. Oil Kings jersey looks great. Gulls colours would look good with the same template. Arizona's jersey is a mess just like the franchise, what wre they doing with the socks? Go back to the retro colours and design with the new logo. The sad thing is their paw print logo and the crest are fantastic, the jersey is a joke though.

I can see $250 for a beef up package. My Brown had significant added cost for Bob spec but it wasn't $250. I can see Vaughn charging that since their will have to hit margins for retail.
  14. I've ordered 2 sets of suspenders and the Pintober Kwel bands and had no issues with shipping. First set of suspenders work well so I ordered a second pair for my other pants. They are snug but I can pull them over my chest fine.

Honestly, the Bauer goal skates are like this. Supreme Goalie - Narrower and shallower Supreme player. Vapor Goalie - Slightly wider and slightly deeper (I'm talking milimetres) Supreme Goalie Reactor didn't fit like the Nexus at all, which is by far deeper and wider than any Bauer goalie skate. Closest thing to Bauer Nexus in goalie is Tacks.

And the top answer is me... so I'll just tell you here so you don't have to go to that link. I wouldn't really worry about the steel as you can replace it with Step Steel and it'll be better than the LS3. The biggest difference between the 1X and X900 is that the 1X is a curv composite boot and will be stiffer. Should last longer as well in theory. Smaller differences is the quality or liner and the flex areas at the top of the skate, on the 1X they are legitimately flexible rubber like material that feels like it is attached to the top of the quarter package, where as it is basically just cosmetic in the X900.
  17. I don't think MAF looks particularly bad in that photo.
  18. I ended up getting a Fit 4 Montreal pair as they had a jersey I really really wanted and is extremely rare available... So I figured I'd order pants as well haha.
  19. I was wearing XL old style pants before and they were interfering with my knee blocks. I went to pro return CCM in size Large and they are perfect length. I got Goalie Monkey to measure the pants as the + 1 for length had me a bit worried. Turns out they measure out to be 19 inches and mine are about 17.5. I never bought them so I can't really do a comparison.

I believe 2009. Probably fairly similar. Sr pads.
  21. I didn't, they only had one size there when I looked and they are 1.5 inches too long. I need a world where eating donuts makes me taller haha.
