  1. There is no longer a Canadian site, you have to purchase everything from the US side of it now.

And the crappiness, unlike a forum you can simply link to it and search for it.

Well, looks like the customizer is missing a few colour options. Bauer had a rep that was correcting the issue on GGSU.

So this will go into my Pad Purchasing thread but I figured it should go here. Bauer just released the customizer for the 1X line, and it is even more disappointing than I originally though. Now I saw what the booking colours were before so I had an idea of what would generally be available, but I assumed the customizer would allow for the already seen colour combinations that pros currently have. Well I was wrong. Also a booking is an order that can be made by a store for a certain colour set for one of their stock off the shelf sets, they can only be ordered in groups and at certain times of the year if I am not mistaken in that part. Here are some colours I thought were well done. This set below cannot be order in this colourway, it has to be ordered all yellow or black. Also Markstrom's can't be ordered in his colour way either, at least there is an option for different stiffness in the pad. And this was the set I was wanting to order. Now here is the set I can actually order... Thanks Bauer

There wasn't really a resolution. Vaughn said it was carbon and a bunch of people said it was all marketing BS.

People questioning if it was actually carbon. They went as far as heating it up to show it didn't "melt" like carbon.
  7. I was going to order their Bacon Suspenders or what ever they are called... but then they charge $15 USD to ship them to Canada... which added on top of the USD base rate makes those far too expensive for me to order. Shame really and I know those could be sent off in basically a letter envelope for a few bucks.

There was a big stink about this on GGSU, with them lighting it on fire as well. I am not sure what the end outcome was but it was an interesting thing to see.
  9. It is, but I had it custom made for myself and didn't purchase it from anywhere.
  10. I love that jersey, can't wait see what it looks like!
  11. Pretty sure he wasn't wearing Brown last year as well. In fact, here is last spring at the World Championships
  12. I was asked to play in the summer, they said they won't charge but I asked to pay. I am part of the team and it is a great team I want to play with. Might as well take a bit of burden on the rest of the guys because I want to play as much as they do.
  13. That is one of the reasons I really will not go to drop in anymore as a goalie. I always left if there was more than 2 and they were staying for the whole time... more than 3 it is ridiculous. I'll only go if I have new gear I want to wear before a game. I remember one time I went out because I wanted to try a new piece of gear out, well I brought out a player on my team to take some shots on me so I could get used to it. 3 skaters signed up and 6 goalies total... they all stayed. My buddy and I went out, grabbed a net and a few pucks and he started taking shots on me. A few of the other goalies lined up and were "waiting their turn" and then tried to push me out of the net. I simply told them that the shooter and I were there together, and when I leave he and the pucks go. If they want the net they can have it and we'll go to the board and finish up. So they took the net... with no players to shoot on them since they didn't come out yet. My buddy and I keep shooting on me on the boards working in what I wanted to use and then left after 20 minutes. None of the other goalies left... it made no sense. Another SUPER frustrating thing was that this one shinny was pretty fast paced and there were 2 goalies that the players basically brought out to make it enjoyable and competitive. Well there were 2 other sub goalies that were awful and completely ruined the play whenever they were in net, they basically caused all the good players (3/4 of the players) to leave after the flood because they didn't want to play against them.

I don't think there is enough of a market to make a 3rd line of goal skates for Bauer. Bauer also sells custom skates which have significantly more options than VH does (besides holder) that would probably fit most peoples' feet.

From everything I've heard, the fit will be similar to the Vapor player skates compared to Supreme. So it would have less depth and less volume overall.

1X will be a slightly different fit profile than 1S, and it will be a bit softer boot. It should have less depth in the boot than the Supreme.

It's the same design they had since the Reactor 6000. I am pretty sure they are doing it just to do it at this point instead of it service a purpose since the RX10 blocker was bindingless. Same with the CCM gloves where you can order them with bindings, it is an easy thing (probably easier to make as well) to do to keep some traditionalists happy.

1X gear is on the Bauer website now. https://www.bauer.com/vapor-hockey-equipment-goalie
  19. You actually got a hold of someone at Bauer? I need your skills in that as they have answered 0 of my emails haha.
  20. Honestly, it was basically the same when I saw it. Perhaps there isn't Curv in the thigh rise, but out of the box they were ridiculously similar.
  21. Vapor is basically a 1.5S with different strapping adjustments and options. But for all intents and purposes it is the same from what I have seen.
  22. I believe Goalie Monkey had a deal about that as well, where they had the fastest turn around time. I am not a fan of it but if I was in Warrior's shoes and GM was offering something I am not sure I could turn that offer down.
  23. Even cooler was that the Green pars were pad skins!
  24. During the tournament last week I made a backdoor pass save by sticking my stick behind me and the player hitting it. The puck ended up underneath me and I was trying to cover it but it ended up being loose and going back to the point. Because I was scrambling I ended up losing my stick, so I ensured I was going to cover the 5-hole with my pads from a shot from the point. When I went to close my legs, my lost stick got directly between the knee blocks on my pads and left a gap which the puck found its way through... that ended up being a go ahead goal for the other team. Luckily their goalie screwed the pooch and let up a weak goal for us to tie it and then we jammed home a rebound.
