I was excited for these to be released till I saw that price. Isn't the markup on beefed up customs from most brands $100 or less? I'm frequently skating with NHL players and my retail Warrior is as good as any pro kitted CA I've used. I was hoping they'd just bump these up $50 or something.

I think mine are coming early/mid next month, pretty pumped.

Yeah, I've never caught as well as I have with the 6.1 glove. The cuffs were the only "issue" I had with them and they've addressed them this release. I had a good talk with Kirk about the gear and I'm really excited for the kit.

Mine ripped when I pulled them up hard by the belt which loosened where the suspenders attached and I just returned them after that. They were solid otherwise but frustrating that the stitching seemed to be skimped on there.

I've been doing a skate with the Wild and another with mixed NHL'ers these last couple weeks and it's standing up quite well. Some really light bruises occasionally but nothing awful. I feel like the shoulder ones wouldn't exist with the Pro+ but the light ones on the bicep or forearm might. So I still love it. These are coming from 1T drills or just slapshot drills from the top of the circles.

I went and picked up the non pro+ ca today so I could fit better (or at all) in all my jerseys. This is pretty much the same as the RX3 I think, at least it's not grey and wont get nasty looking in 3 months. Size aside it feels just as protective as my RX3Pro+ which they advertise to be the case. I held the RF2 pro helmet which seemed the same to me. The shell might have different materials but the foams inside didn't seem noticeably different.

I’ve been in TF9s for a while now, they’re honestly more comfortable than the VH Customs I had a while back. I wish I went for a half size smaller since my ankle bone doesn’t quite line up but they’re the most comfortable skate I’ve ever had. I do wish the holder had somewhere for a heel strap like the Bauers.

I've gone from a 960XPM to a Warrior R1 Pro to a NME ONE. I loved the 960XMP but yeah I sweat a ton and that probably got 1lb heavier at the end of a skate, weight aside it's the safest I've felt in a helmet. The R1 Pro I like but the thinner and stiffer forehead foam bothers me a bit, I like to know there's a bit more travel between me and an impact. The chin is also a tad wider which can effect glancing over the shoulder, at least with my big RX3 Pro+ CA. I still have it as office decor and backup if/when needed. The NME feels like a great balance between the 960 and the older NME. Cheeks have soft cushion which is nice but its not so thick that it turns into a space age squeegee, forehead foam is similar to the older NME with some softer where the sweat band is + a ridge which makes space for the sweat band and also creates a comfortable gap. If I could change anything on it I'd maybe replace the forehead area with 960 foam but otherwise its super light, breaths extremely well and instills confidence. The chin vents are pretty big so I guess you could say another downside would be possible paint/design limitations now the jaw?

If the CA is a tad smaller I'd probably pick one up to replace my RX3pro+, it can be difficult to fit in jerseys with the current one.

For all the brands Pure is going to have the most, specifically the one off 35w and 494. Staubers is great if you're set on the brands they carry and want to support one of the smaller local spots. Across the way attached to Bremar Arena General is great to work with too. A buddy of mine just got some True customs there and they've gone up to bat for him to make sure his feet get the perfect skate. True's sending one of their fitters since his feet are so shot (fully collapsed arches).

Just posted up my G6 review, I've also been doing some NHL practice skates with them. And a netcam to see how they move in more detail.

how about flatter arches?

The toes seemed to have plenty of space for me where past bauer skates didnt. I actually drove to the shop and almost pulled the trigger today but I was a bit worried about how much the instep would shape. I have bumps on my arches that felt like they'd need that shell to really move when baked. I trust its possible but at $960 usd after tax I'm going to wait till I hear/see more.

I'm more worried about low ones with a bump in them. Heel lock is solid?

How are your arches? I feel like my TF9's formed well around my odd arches, curious how these form.

They werent offering that when I was in the shop the other day. I'm guessing they're all going to sell fast so I doubt they want to take away from any potential sales.

Trying them on will not tell you if they'll form to your feet well or not. The 8's that I could usually stand to be in with other Bauer skates felt awful unbaked. I would either talk directly to a Bauer rep at length or wait till you know someone else with as wide of feet as you to confirm they can be shaped that wide.

I tried them on Saturday at the local Bauer Experience shop, really neat product and wish I had the cash to buy and try them. For those saying that they can't get the top strap tight enough I was talking to the Iowa Wild equipment manager about these earlier this year when I was doing some Black Aces skates. He said Zane had his rivets popped out and they punched new holes on the strap so he could wrench it down more. I'm not sure what that would do to the warranty or if the plastics aren't meant to be pulled beyond a certain point but he didn't say that it damaged them in any way. I also just finished listening to that InGoal podcast with Charlie Lindgren and it sounds like he got some toe stingers. Their solution might be to upsize him for that issue, I feel like the true toe caps are larger and I know they used to put a foam pad on the tip. I dont think that's the solution for these as that might bunch up the liner. I guess I can be thankful I'm between an 8 and a 9 and that would probably make a 9 perfect.

Here's the measurements of the G6 landing area that are covered by the plate. Around 5.5" x 5.25" Axis and 20.1's fit quite well in it but I can tell you the Bauer's wouldnt make much sense for the reasons @ThatCarGuy said.

I'm going to keep them in case I get an itch to try them again. I'm letting a buddy demo them right now on his 20.1's.

WATCH IT!!!!!! 39 years young! Let me know if you guys have any questions, I've been skating with some pros while wearing them and have started figuring out how I want them setup. I did take the slide plates off but I might slap them back on if I drop some weight, they're insanely fast and I think if you get a pair you should give them a chance. I'm working on putting together a video of what pads the plates can fit on too.

I skate with pros fairly often and have never felt the need to put the extra pad in. Putting on my G6 glove that came in today honestly feels even more safe than previous models and I can snap it fast right out of the box.
