  1. @netminder I agree, like on my hyperlites some areas that are stitched in that way are already coming apart and although I am on the ice about 7 to 8 times a week, they are less then a year old and have wear in areas they should not. On the other hand, the pads themselves are holding up great, i just wish I went with a stiffer option.
  2. I do not know if this will be on all mach pads, but I came across a picture of them on Goalies Plus and they seem to have an updated toe tie attachment to the pad. It looks similar to how True has two positions on their toe bridge so that you can play with having your toe ties be off set or centered. I for one hope this is on all of them as It would give the Bauer toe bridge some more stability than before and prevent tears.
  3. ok, thanks a lot. I was actually looking at trying the Fire(FBV) ring anyways but wanted some opinions on it. Ill take a deeper look at calibrating the machine before I sharpen my skates. Also @Puckstopper do you know if the goalie risers are needed when sharpening the true 1 piece skates?
  4. Help: Does anyone know if you need to use the goalie risers on True 1 piece goalie skates when using the Sparx sharpening machine? My coach just got a Sparx machine for our locker room and after reading the instructions I was still left with some questions. Also if anyone has any experience with the Sparx Fire wheels, what was your impression of them? Did they make a difference when you skated? Another question, I've heard that you should flip your skate when it’s getting sharpened, is this true?] Thanks
  5. Does anyone know if Bauer is introducing anything groundbreaking like they are with their new laceless skates or like what they did for the Ultra sonic knee block? I hope its not like what True did with their new 20.2 pad because at first look it just seems like the 20.1 but with a different graphic or am I just missing information?
  6. Does anyone know what the difference between the Soft Foam and Recessed Foam knee cradle options is. They have been a part of the CCM customizer for a bit and now the Lefreve/True customizer as well. However, neither one of the companies has posted anything as to what is the difference between each option is, even in the catalogs. (although Lefreve/True hasn't put a catalog out yet). Does anyone know the difference between the two? Also, the picture is one of the CCM customizer, but the True customizer uses the same names (dont know if they are the same or differentiate in actual construction though)
  7. These look a lot like the 1x's apart from some areas in size. Would the Bauer Pros be like an upgraded 1x, or something new?
  8. Yeah I would think that Bauer would lean more towards the 1x design because most people seem to like those more. Also where can you fin Bauer's pro knee guard model online?
  9. Does anyone know what knee guards these are? Saw them on The Hockey Shop Source for Sports bauer hyperlite pad review. They don’t seem like anything bauer offers now, so i was wondering if they are knee guards that are coming out with the hyperlite line.
