  14. Got lucky, snagged a listing off Sideline Swap minutes after it went live.
  15. Unicorn found! Just needs an OxyClean bath and it'll be good as new.
  16. Vaughn V9 Pro. I should clarify, the thickness of the knee blocks hindered my skating more than I liked. I do, and have yet to come across any issues (not related to poor technique, that is). All of the above. No complaints about any of these. My hunch is that anything deemed custom removes it from production norms and therefore earns an upcharge.
  17. Happy to. Matt is actually the reason why I chose JRZ... his reviews are outstanding. This is my second Fusion set. My first set (see a couple posts above) was pretty basic, standard specs - soft flex pads, game-ready palm on the glove. For reference, I was coming from a pro stock 2X Pro set-up. Out of the box everything felt great. The pads are light and have solid rebound control, which is even better now that I switched to a stiff flex. Took a little tweaking to get consistent rotation down, but I'm sure that's due to technique more than anything. I still struggle with that a bit in the new set, mostly when transitioning to RVH (again... technique). I did find the knee blocks to be a bit thick for my liking, so I had them shave 1/2" off my new set. The blocker is spectacular. Best I've ever used. Rebounds absolutely rocket off of it, and I feel like I can "control" them much easier than with other blockers (and I was a big fan of the 2X Pro). If it had the same palm as the 1X blocker, It would be perfect. The glove is also great. Big caveat here: I'm not picky about catch break angles like I know a lot of goalies are... just has never been a sticking point for me. Closure was smooth and snappy from the get-go, what I would expect from a game-ready palm. It's very comfortable to wear and the internal strapping system is well-constructed. But the best part for me? No stingers. I had previously used three different pro stock 2X Pro gloves, and I was constantly getting stingers in every single one of them - so much so that I had taken to wearing a baseball catcher's protective glove underneath. Nothing even close in the Fusion. That right there is worth the money to me. The only other thing I'd point out - and this is obviously not news around these parts - is that the stock graphics are bowling-shoe ugly. The cut-and-sew design also makes them very difficult to clean, if that's something you care about. Even though I went with all-black I was still happy to pay the small upcharge in order to have graphic-free flat faces on all of my pieces. All of that said, I love my current set. Since getting back into playing goal a few years ago, I've gone through a ton of other set-ups (Brian's, Warrior, Bauer 1S, 2S Pro, 1X & 2X Pro), and the JRZ Fusions are what finally stuck. Exceptional quality, plenty of custom options and very reasonable price. Absolutely would recommend.
  18. And they have to know this... so, why even use it as an alternative to elastic? Or at the very least, why not inform the customer? Bizarre.
  19. Thanks! I'll have to ask my wife's contact at Bauer about this...
  20. That's fair, but given the resiliency of my Roughneck I was expecting better from the EcoPro. My mistake, I suppose...
  21. Thought I'd share my experience with the PP1. As I posted in another thread, I had a retail Vapor 1X that I loved. I was really hoping that Kenesky could build me a unit that more or less replicated the 1X but was a bit more protective... in other words, something durable that I could use for years at all levels. The specs I requested were: Non-elastic arm straps (to avoid stretching over time) Custom backplate strapping similar to the Fast Strap system on the 1X Squared shoulder floaters similar to the 1X Extra protection wing on upper arms similar to the 1X Other than the arm wing, none of these were really accomplished successfully. The arm straps were a type of "seatbelt" material that was very slick and wouldn't secure in place. I ended up having clip / tape each one. The backplate strapping was built more or less the way I had requested it, but the strap material was very difficult to adjust within the system they built, rendering it useless. The straps were also very long, despite my specific request to keep them short (since one thing I disliked about the 1X system was the excess strapping that I'd have to tuck into my pants after tightening them). It's almost as if they built the unit without paying attention to the measurements I had provided, which was odd. Finally, the shoulder floaters did not provide the squared profile I was looking for even after multiple adjustments. To be fair I don't believe they upcharged for this, so no harm done I suppose. This may irk some, but perhaps my biggest complaint is that the unit did not repel smell AT ALL. I keep my gear in immaculate condition, and despite my best efforts - airing out immediately, Captodor baths, etc. - the stench on this thing just lingered. My 1X never had a smell, despite the exact same process. Very strange. Anyway, despite being heavy (and hot) it was fairly comfortable to wear and provided excellent protection. Very rarely felt shots. Overall, I liked it; but for being a custom C/A unit that I spent $700+ on, I expected to LOVE it. I did not.
  22. Though MyBauer? The only customization options I see are pads / glove / blocker... https://www.bauer.com/en-US/my-bauer-landing-page.html/customize-goalie-gear/mybauer-goal-equipment-612528.html?familyset=ProCustom2021GoalieEquipment&selected=true
  23. Passau Backpack bag here. Had it for a couple years and the only problem I've had was with a couple of the zipper pulls breaking. As far as packing order, skates and helmet go in the designated pockets. Pads next, face down with knee blocks facing out towards the sides of the bag. Thigh rises tuck slightly under the helmet / skate pockets. Knee pads go in where they would usually sit as if I were wearing them. Pants and chesty next to one another on top of those, then glove & blocker on top of the helmet / skate pockets. Laundry bag on top of all that. Stacks nicely. Putting it on isn't fun, but it's not awful. It's just extra exercise!
