  5. Mods feel free to move this thread to the right spot if it's not in the correct one. I'd like to dedicate this thread to the things I'd like to see changed in goalie category. First thing has bothered me to no end, I'm suprised it hasn't been stopped or changed already is the fact that the 2nd tier gear is referred to as "senior". And that would be fine except for the fact it also used as a size gauge. Another thing about "senior" as a tier grade is that it comes in intermediate size and I'm almost positive that Vaughn's junior gear is senior grade (could be wrong but it's nicely built). So in terms of grade tiers, I'm proposing a change that would be something along the lines of "Pro" for the top grade gear, "Tier 2" for mid and "Tier 3" for entry level and leave senior as just a size. Second thing I think needs to change is something we can all agree on - the damn leg pad size. A 33+1" CCM pad shouldn't be a 32+2" in another brand. They should be the same in every size across the board. Why Vaughn has 32+2 as their own standard is beyond me. Anyway, the big 6 need to get together and standardize the pad size and make them all the same. Share suggestions below.
  6. I wanna clarify once and for all that this skate was simply, an ordinary, crystal clear, unmistakable, frank as Frank Pietrangelo, a god-damn, mother f***in' PLAYER SKATE Nowthen... How do I know for sure? Well first of all I was working in retail hockey at that time when it was released. And I did ask our sales representative when I did see it that I was curious about removable tendon guard. He said the reason it was removable was because many hockey players have a bad habit of taking their skates off like their sneakers--using their toe against their heels to push it off and that over time weakens the guard and cuts/breaks it off. So they would start offering the replacements. Tendon guards are in place to protect from injury. And the option to remove it was like the option to remove the seatbelts from your car. Soon enough I got questions about if we carried the "Mako goalie skate" and I straight up told customers it wasn't a goalie skate. Some accepted this answer and some fired back with the same old question of "Well why is the tendon guard removable, huh"? So the only way to know for sure was to check the catalog and sure enough, no where did it say that it was convertible goalie skate. I also called up Mr. Jeff Sarginson who was our Easton sales representative at the time and told me that it was indeed not a goalie skate, not advertised as a goal skate, not intended to be used for goalie and not built or designed for goalies. Period. There were still yo-yos out there who were convinced it'd be cute to buy a $600 skate and still have to spend another $100 or so to put a Graf cowling on. And that's fine but anyway.
  7. Doing my best to use the internet less but I just had to chime in on this thread. This infernal thing
  8. Based on the mixed responses I'm seeing here and other places online, this is just the first step in the evolutionary process of laceless skates. It's the first of it's kind and there's probably improvements to be made. CCM and others will probably try to do their own version too. While I'm excited to get a pair, I think I'm gonna wait for the next generation.
  9. New and unused. Size is adult large. Comes with padded mask bag. Asking $750 CDN
  10. Anyone have intel as to when custom orders will be up and running?
  11. I know the reason - holding on to the past. I get it, it's tradition. But it is my tradition to correct it every year.
  12. Some can't. I do remember reading somewhere that Lundqvist had a debilitating problem with his hands and couldn't close his mitt all the time.
  13. I was hoping for a new Stanley Cup champion for 2022. Not all fans are the same and every fan base has silly fan but after the James Anastasio incident after game three, I was on the fence. Anyway, go Avalanche.
