  1. Thank you! I was lucky to see it all together new at the shop. I have been in there once every 10 days or so because they are getting inventory but at a trickle so they haven’t had it long. I’ve been wanting to try the Gnetik V catcher just to see how it fit and finally the one shop who’s heavier with Brian’s in my area happened to have the set. I walked out with the catcher, wore it for the evening (off and on) and finally got pretty comfortable with it. 72 hours later I went back for the rest of the band, I felt pretty bad breaking them up like that. I’m not malicious.
  2. I thought I would update this as I now have a full set of Brian's Gnetik V pads and got some ice time today. The glove and blocker are regular palm sizing as that's what the store had in stock. I had a chance to play around with both at the store just to get the feel of the regular palm size and decided to go for it. They are quite snug for sure, which is a big difference between the Vaughns I'm coming from. Luckily the cuff on the blocker doesn't ride quite as high as other Brian's I'd tried on, so the fit is pretty dang good. The extra padding on the index finger of the blocker hand kind of threw me off at first as the Vaughn doesn't have it. It takes some of the "give" out of the finger but I don't feel like my hand is jammed against the tips, which works. Really happy with them.
  3. SAM - 3/4inch hollow I am a novice and not a very good skater but I just had mine done a couple of weeks ago. The biggest difference/benefit for me is the flatter radius has given me more stability and glide, which has led to much less fatigue. I don’t get around on the ice very well so any conservation in energy is a plus!
  4. Very cool! I just bought my full set of goalie gear from them a few months ago. Cool shop and they have a goalie coach that operates out of the back on in-house ice.
  5. Purely an off-the-rack feel and I think it has to do with my bigger hands. It just wasn’t a comfortable fit. The only off-the-rack catcher and blocker I felt fit well was Vaughn. I bet I’d get along well with a Warrior with the right size palm, but then I’m back to custom ordering.
  6. I’m hoping a larger palm will have longer finger channels. Right now, with my fingers pushed all the way in my palm doesn’t really sit where the palm of the glove is. I could be wrong though about the bigger palm. I had no idea! I’ll look into them, although I’m not a huge fan of their catchers.
  7. My hands are kind of stupid big at 8.5 inches palm to the tip of my middle finger, yet I’m only 6ft tall. My biggest issue with the stock palm is where the wrist cuff sits. It uncomfortably sits up to high on my hand.
  8. Hello all, I am new here but I’m getting back into playing after a long break. Does anyone have experience with the Brian’s XL palms on either the goalie Gnetik glove or breaker? I’m considering making the jump from Vaughn but the stock Sr Brian’s cuffs sit too far up the palm of my hand. For those with bigger hands, does the XL seem to fit better? No shop around me stocks any Sr XL and when I email Brian’s they said it’s pretty much a custom order. Thanks!
  9. I don’t know if this helps but I just picked up a set of True Stock TF9 8.5 goalie skate. I wear an 11US hiking shoe and 10.5US boot. My foot measured right at an 8.5 on the measure plate. Hope it helps!
