  1. @jerd31 looks like Konekts to me. If you zoom in you can see the "hinge".
  2. As a dude that rocked two different sets of that vintage of Reactors - respect. Love them.
  3. @xmikex32 for reference - PSP jersey I'm wearing in my profile picture is a Kobe jersey. For reference - I'm about 5'-4"/150lbs. Jersey is definitely not on the long side like my Men's League Sweater (which has the parabola "RBK" cut that the Kobe does not). Arms on both are about the same level of snug without being tight (though I have nothing in my arms cinched down) which might require a bit of adjusting when I get dressed but is nothing I notice thereafter. Hope that helps.
  4. First - welcome aboard the board @CelestialBurden. One key thing to note here is that I believe you are rocking Warrior chesty and pants and they are indeed designed to work in accordance with one another with corresponding loops and whatnot (I just don't own either piece and therefore cannot speak to their intended integration). Hopefully a dedicated Warrior user will chime in here with some guidance.

    Baselayer thread

I'll bite - I've used Under Armor base layers for a number of years. Seem to have a pretty decent shelf life with washing after every use. I replace after they become thread bare/tear holes. Heat gear tights with a cold gear, long sleeved shirt.
  6. @ZeroGravitas is exactly right - I glazed over the fact you were in Canada/might need a "certified" lid. Worth mentioning that no true custom option (meaning a unique mold based on your one of one melon) will carry certification though (as no one is going to pay to put a one off through the certification process).
  7. @Charlie T nothing good is cheap... I think all the same "advice" above still applies (other than what was Coveted is now Apex - same guy, same masks, different name). I have owned Pro's Choices since 2008 and have no complaints with the process, the product or the producer which is a lot more than I can say when dealing with a lot of custom offerings (whether it be lids or equipment in general).
  8. @ilyazhito nope - Brian Heaton has zero hands in any of the current Brian's offerings. Its been a number of years (and a few changes in ownership to boot I believe) since Mr. Heaton had any involvement with the Brian's brand. FYI - if you weren't hip to it - Mr. Heaton passed a handful (or more) years ago.
  9. @coopaloop1234 did you say... degenerate... What - no acknowledgement of the obvious Bryz shoutout? We all remember that beautifully crazy bastard - right?
  10. @Chenner29 sooo - not enough of a warning (?). Noted - my bad. Probably didn't help that it came through in humongous big size.
  11. Looks like he’s about to blow his top. I’ve always assumed it must be difficult/frustrating for guys that played at a very high level to move to coaching (Roy, Gretzky for a minute) in the sense that they probably have to slow down their own mind to coach others that probably aren’t at their speed. “No, no - like this… “
  12. HA - right? If I had hairy knuckles maybe I could have pulled off Animal.
  13. I wish it were a cooler story @MTH but - you gotta give the people what they want... I was subbing skating out in the town next to mine. We were woefully short benched (six bodies) so I had played the whole game on D up to that point. Clock was winding down in second when some nob cranked a slapper from center ice that had no chance of going in. I didn't pick it up through the mass of bodies and it smoked me atop my glove. Didn't feel great. Sat for a minute on bench to start the third and in doing so - jammed that finger over into the next finger stall without looking at it before hopping out for a shift. Went to collect a puck behind my net and rim it around and got all of nothing on it. Skated off since I was useless and hit the after hours clinic after showering up where they told me I had a clean break just above the knuckle on my index finger (from the initial shot or a combination of that and jamming that digit over I'm not certain) so it was just kind of dangling there held on by muscle, tendons and whatnot (which was VERY obvious once I took my glove off in the locker room). Clinic just splinted it which was all of no help. Luckily I knew a dude that got me into a specialist without having to wait forever and a day. Like a couple weeks later got it all Terminator'd up with the pins that stuck out of the back of my hand. Had two big green ball things on them that reminded me of Kermit the Frog's eyes. I'll dig up a picture for you. Adding the picture for context. Funny thing is they pinned it back to where it was straighter than it was before. Used to kind of roll toward the inside at my finger nail. Consider this the "graphic photo" warning if this stuff isn't your cup of tea...
  14. I didn't break a thumb but the index finger on my glove hand. Snapped it clean off - needed two pin setting my finger at like 90 degrees from my palm (). It was most certainly a long time to get back to "comfortable" for me, weeks with the pins, maybe months of PT and then even after that I wore a Palmgard padded catcher's glove inside my mitt for quite a while. Just be vigilant with the PT and you'll get there.
  15. Its crazy how much variation in feel you can get from one glove to the next along the same brand/line off the shelf anymore. Feels like I can't buy an unfelt-up mitt anymore.
  16. Welcome aboard @WBGMike. As a dude that's high school rocked them - can appreciate the purple and gold (Go Wildcats). Nice kit set. No custom paint/wrap/whatever to show off on your lid?
  17. I miss early 90's hockey. True Divisional First Rounds and all that jazz. The stakes just felt higher no matter what series you were watching.
  18. I think something like this is a wakeup call for the young guns - you are playing in a men's league now. All the dipsy doo dunkeroo stuff can get you leveled if you aren't paying attention. I don't have a problem with it - I think of it as a course correct. Agree with the above - if somebody is out there taking liberties - they should have to answer the bell. What I don't care for seeing is guys having to fight for laying a clean check. I think back to the many opponents that got Kronwall'd (LEGALLY) where thereafter folks would be angling for a fight. That's where suspensions should be handed out. A good, clean body check can be as much of a momentum swing as a timely goal and it shouldn't be taken out of the game or dissuaded because you're going to HAVE to fight thereafter. Dirty hit = fight/suspension, clean hit = tip your cap.
  19. No problem @Blackops. For what its worth - I've had my gel version of Maltese for a number of years. No complaints outside of some stitch fraying (which is to be expected). I also have a Maltese that is more of the foam version (air frothed gel if I recall correctly from dealings with Mr. Maltese himself - Phil) that honestly I just haven't really gotten around to using because the gel one is still going strong. By then the shell was sublimated for colors/logos and I can report - has faded considerably.
  20. @Blackops Maltese is indeed out of business. Roughneck is essentially a rebranded version of the latest Maltese iteration (more foam-y less gel-y). Hope that helps.
  21. ... or did it not get weird enough? Question the answers @coopaloop1234. I don't know that I'm "desperate" now but if you want to unload it - I'm still in. Hit me up via a message to work out details - Sideline Swap, Venmo, snailmail a check, etc. If you'd rather hang on to it so you can throw it in after a game that goes to shit as the magic cure all - I get that too.
  22. I didn't say that - don't put words in my mouth. This relationship is already getting out of hand (get it) and we haven't even swapped liners yet... But seriously - if you eeever get around to figuring out what you do (and don't) like putting your mitts in and one of said "leftovers" is a regular, senior 75 degree liner - I'm in. Guy just couldn't wait forever on empty promises @coopaloop1234. I've got needs.
  23. Just thought I'd follow up on this one if its useful to others... As noted above - pulled the trigger on some liners through Tradeinn.com. Ordered 11/27/23 and showed up yesterday - 12/18/23 - as advertised. Two thumbs up. So - from Spain (I believe) to the U-S-of-A in a little less than a month if you are keeping score.

  25. Sounds like you’re not out in the boonies either so you are at least upping some probabilities in there somewhere (math). But also means it’ll feel like there’s more to weed out.
