  1. Just ordered some and will plan to put on them. I assume you don't need to fully cover it but just some of the contact points on the calf and knee areas?
  2. Ok so I went back to the Ultrasonics while I wait for my Mach's to come in from Warranty, and well it is definitely the Mach material... I was in shock at my sliding again. Definitely a case of getting used to the Mach's. After having used the Mach's for a while, the sliding I had last night was almost too much! Ended up sliding out of the goal on one side to side play. Definitely thinking about altering the pads someway to get them to slide better. Any recommendations on what to use, I have seen electrical tape and some sort of polish or waxy stuff recommended, anyone have specfics?
  3. Welp, this just happened to mine after 10 games of use, I was still in the warranty period and was able to warranty them, Had other stitching come undone as well and lots of fraying in the knee area. Seeing that this has happened to others has me worried. New pads are in the mail to me.
  4. First time on the ice with the Mach retail pads. First observation as soon as I hit the ice, holy shit you guys weren’t kidding about the sliding. Pads stuck to the ice very badly. Part of it was because of bad ice right now, but still. My friend in the other net had no problems sliding in his Warriors. That took a lot to get used to. Other than that, they functioned perfectly. Another comment I saw on retail was to do with the weird shaped calf shell. I did not notice it once while playing surprisingly. Glove and blocker were excellent, glove fully broken in and easy to get used to. Couple other observations, made one save that definitely had to do with the knee block and calf shell being directly attached. Thought I was beat under the pad and was able to kick out the puck anyway. coming from XL Ultrasonics, these fit better slightly as far as 5 hole closure, which is great. Stopped one 5 hole shot that got past my stick and hit the thigh rises of the pad which made me feel great with them.
  5. Is it true that the Bauer Mach’s aren’t the lightest pad on the market, I think I just saw that True 20.2 weigh 4.75lbs and the Mach at 4.9lbs. Anyone care to confirm?
  6. Set completed today rink opens next weekend for the season! Damn am I excited to try the strapping. The pads are so light!
  7. Just got my Mach gloves, coming from the Ultrasonic which became my all time favorite glove, it definitely feels different. Closure is great and similar, but that back hand and strapping is something to get used to. At first I couldn't even get my fingers into the glove, especially my pinky. Had to really adjust and loosen the strapping, and even then it's pretty tight on the fingers, but I guess that has to do with no wrist strapping. Feels similar to how broken in my Ultrasonic was when I got it back in January. Have about a week till hockey starts here, so will start with my normal process of leaving it closed and swapping to open for half days. I battle pretty bad Carpal tunnel in my fingers, which makes it hard to shut gloves unless they are super broken in (From years of playing goalie in soccer growing up and in college). Will see if I need to do the hot water method. Has anyone used a heat gun or blow dryer to heat the glove instead of the hot water method? Wonder if it may melt the new materials or if it is similar to hot water being added? Pads are being delivered today.
  8. Shots of my custom painted tribute mask to my grandparents. They both passed away in the last couple of years and were Navy vets. I’m currently in Bauer Ultrasonics but have Bauer Mach coming next week in the retail black. Excited to get new photos in the new gear once the season finally starts in 2 weeks or so.
  9. Couple of questions for clarification, so any custom order does not allow for the stock calf setup, pillow, she’ll shape, etc? Or is it just an option to go NHL spec or retail stock spec? I know the goalie community hates Trav4Oilers on YouTube, but he got the retail pads and hated them. Made a point in his video to say no NHL goalie likes them and they are just all wearing hyperlites with the Mach graphic. My assumption would be that pros don’t want to experiment with a new pad in season and more pros will be in Full Mach come next season. Is this a bad assumption? I have a set of retail Machs coming and I’m excited to try some of the new features on it.
  10. I keep seeing people ask about retail, I have a set of the retail thanks to a Bauer University coupon that are coming next week. Will get to play in them a few times before the end of September and I am currently in UltraSonic pads. Will be happy to report how I feel the sliding in with the thicker calf, and different calf shape as well once I play a few times.
