  1. What profile is stock on the Bauer Pulse Ti? I can't find any product description stating if it is standard or the agility profile. Been using Bauer 3G+ and Bladetech. I noticed that the blade tech had a forward-sloping profile and it just is not for me. I prefer the standard profile of the 3G+ I just want some better steel. The 3G+ edge dulls too fast.
  2. How is the fit on the Axis? Does it fit like the profile line?
  3. I know the weak chin has supposedly been addressed on the newer NME ONE helmets but I am posting this so anyone who might be considering buying an older VTX is aware of what could happen. Took a shot to the chin that cracked the paint and bent the inner liner many beer league seasons ago. I have been sealing it with a clear coat since then to stop rust and further paint chips. The other night I had a game where I took 3 shots to the neck area and this was the resulting damage. This is after bending the inner wire back out with some needle nose pliers. The helmet otherwise has performed great outside of normal wear and tear. Pads de-laminating (fixed with some 3m PSA film) and chips here and there. I am looking into a 960 now and I think my time in NME's is over. I will miss the lightweight feel and cool vent shapes.
  4. For skate socks, I've been using Swiftwick cut resistant. They have been really nice so far and hold up well. https://swiftwick.com/collections/hockey/products/hockey-twelve-360 And for hockey socks over my knee pads, the same as mentioned above RBK/CCM/Adidas XL socks I got at a pro stock team sale.
  5. An older photo but hope it helps, the knee guards under the socks vs the knee pads on top of the socks (photo below)
  6. I am 5'10 165lbs and I am in Bauer pro pants size med, with ccm pro knees. Set up I wear the knees under pro socks (no knit) with tape so they stay in place and the sock keeps any flaps from the knee from catching on the pant or pad. The pants rest a little bit above the knee block and down it the butterfly they seal well movement is mostly free and nothing hangs. I also tuck the chesty with suspenders and a skate lace tied under the sternum guard that is the lace from the pants if that makes sense. I would ask how you wear your knee guards over or under a sock, and how loose do you wear your brain's pants. The reason I went with Bauers over newer Vaughn pants is the Bauers have a more square leg barrel than the newer Vaughn v9's ( not sure about v10 barrel size or shape yet) which was more nhl spec or rounded over the thigh.
  7. For sale $400 USD located in CA Custom 33+2 EF3 set. Has that Lefevre design we all know so well before CCM broke up with them. Single external break, Single internal. The glove is a Game Ready 600 break with D3o. This glove made me a 600 user, with the extra reach and huge presentation it has been an awesome glove. The Blocker is a blocker. It still has good pop. I did wear a cycling glove inside of it for extra grip. Normal wear but overall still in great shape. The speed skin has held up very well over time and has proven to be very durable. Prolaces not included, buyer pays for shipping. Venmo or Paypal preferred. Going up here before SLS. Feel free to reach out with any questions.
  8. The strap out of the knee block is a nylon webbing. It is an option on the customizer vs the standard elastic. It does not stretch and is for more of a tight/fixed feeling behind the knee.
  9. I got a game in last night in them. So I was also worried when I got them strapped up at how amazingly stiff they were. Standing in the pads they felt tall but the FRS also holds the pad a bit higher on the leg so I was ready for that. They play very well for being so stiff, the seal is great, the sliding is good (vs the speed skin I had previously) they rotate nicely and the rebounds are great. They didn't hinder my play just my resting stance haha
  10. I was using EF3's before this new setup. The Eflex pads I could squish, the PX3's do not bend outside of the boot. I personally haven't played in 12.2's but I would assume they would be softer through the thigh rise and into the shin but not Eflex soft.
  11. New set. Super light and move really well. Stiff is an understatement. The glove is a 600 pro palm and closes really well out of the box. Really happy with the move.
  12. Emboss. SS is durable but slides terribly.
  13. In some cases, the ringing can be from cracks or bad lamination of the layers, you should see if you can warranty it at least. I have a VTX and I do not get ringing when taking a puck off the front cage/chin/front of the helmet. I play in the higher divisions and if it is a direct hit it usually will blow the chinstrap off or a buckle but not deafen me.
  14. Just sharing my experience on my recent chesty adventure. I'm 5'10 and wear 33+2 pads, all the chestys worked well with my bauer pro pants. no problems tucking or overlap. I am keeping the V9 in hopes it breaks in and settles down the arms and floaters are still pretty stiff but not nearly as stiff as my hyperlight was. I would say a retail hyperlight is more than enough. Those CCM pro units look sorta like the best of both worlds. Have had a V6 ProCarbon until the plates and foam started bursting through the aeromesh and had to replace it. Hyperlight Medium size. beefed up arms, floaters, and 20mm off the cuffs. bulky and pretty warm but very protective arms were still long for me V9 Pro not at all like the my old V6 or the V8 units so be careful, the medium I got fits more like a large more mobile and cooler than the hyperlight. the arms are beefier than older vaughn units so are the floaters velcro arms are meh. the back strap rides higher on the back, if you look a lot of pro units dont use this back style they use older v8-v6 styles with the buckle
  15. For sale is a basically brand new Hyperlight chesty. Size medium. Located in CA. $575 USD. Reinforced shoulder floaters Reinforced biceps Reinforced forearm Removed 20mm from forearm length Medium body, medium arms Used for 1 skate. Sad to sell it, it looks amazing and is a tank of a chest. Buyer pays shipping or local pickup is just as good. Cash paypal or venmo. Cheers, Tommy
