  1. Just brought my set home! Can't wait for my ankle to finish healing so I can put these beauties to work
  2. How do you setup the leg channel? I was thinking it would be best to have the top strap done up a bit tighter than the lower strap, but I'm still waiting to get my set.
  3. Yeah, I saw his set on a sportsnet youtube video and really liked the colorful outer roll and white pad face. I was originally going to go with an all-white set, since a decade ago you typically had to order custom to get that, but now a lot of retail sets are all-white or all-black, so I figured I'd take advantage of the fact that I'm ordering custom and go for it. Blue is my fav colour, and I still have mostly white on the set. I'm pretty happy with it, just need to figure out the sizing and knee zone options. Can someone help with with the differences between "outer outside" and "outer inside" knee wraps? The True customizer descriptions don't really explain much .
  4. What is your FTK, and what pad size did you go with? Where does your knee land on the block? Thigh rise sizing is a tough one for me because my current set of pads have softened considerably and this will be my first stiff pad. I'll probably either end up with a 32+3 or 33+2. Thanks for the input, I'm super excited to put my order in this week
  5. I was told to go with the weave on the sliding surface for durability, as opposed to the fastglide. Also was wondering if anyone has tips on how to properly size the pad - I fit in both the 32 and 33, with my knee landing in the middle of the 33, and closer to the top 3/4 of the 32 knee block. How can I determine the best size, and how would changing the boot angle (open [110deg] vs normal [100deg]) affect the fit? What about thigh rise size?
  6. Just gonna sneak some customizer pics in here and see what you guys think. I went with a blue theme and then realized the Kraken blue scheme + red kinda looks awesome... I plan on ordering the set this week.
  7. Hey guys and gals, I was wondering what socks you're using (both skate socks and hockey socks). I've been trying to find out what socks pro goaltenders are wearing over their knee guards but I'm not having much luck. I was going to just buy some player socks but was wondering if there are any goalie specific models made with knee guards in mind. As for skate socks I was thinking of just going with some nice Bauer socks. Cheers!
  8. Out of curiosity, what made you choose the stabili-slide vs the flex option? Also, with the supreme toe bridge, I assume you wouldn't want to choose the offset sewing, correct? I'm having a hard time trying to figure out which thigh flex option I should go with. I'm fairly flexible and have a wide butterfly, but how stiff is TOO stiff? Also, do you know if there is any significant difference (weight, stiffness) in the different palm material options? Why did you choose nash vs catch-grip? I was planning on getting a PX3 set, but after finding out that Bauer is offering the Vapor 90 option, I am considering going with them instead.
  9. I plan on trying on the 960 tomorrow, unfortunately I can't find a store near me with the PRO 3i in stock. I'd definitely go for the better fit, just wanted to see what sort of experience people have had regarding the two.
  10. Does anyone have experience with both or either of these two masks? I'm looking to upgrade and I want to get the best mask available. They're both about the same price. How would you rate the protection offered by your mask (if you own one of them)?
  11. Top of the pad meaning the outer side when in butterfly. The PX3s in store had the knee block with the nylon calf strap, as well as the removable elastic knee strap. I plan on heading back to TGC to try them on with a few different configurations of pant and knee guard. I'll make sure to take some pictures and video when I go. I did have the FRS a little too tight when I was trying them out, so that could have played a role in the clunky feeling I was getting. I'll definitely look into the custom pant order, thanks for the tip!
  12. I don't wear a sock over my knee guards, but I plan on doing so moving forward. My Brian's pants are relatively tight, but that's only because they're quite small on me. I have a game tonight so I'm going to pay extra attention to how my pants fit and move about, keeping in mind how the Bauer pants fit me when I tried them on earlier this week. These pads will also be my first without a boot strap, but when I tried them on at the store it didn't seem like it would be hard to get used to. I'm excited to be able to have such a tight seal on the ice!
  13. Hi everyone! I apologize if this is the wrong spot to post this. For some context, I'm looking at purchasing new gear in the coming months. I'm drawn heavily toward the PX3 pads, and was wondering if anyone has experience moving from a soft pad (I currently have some old Reebok Sr 9Ks [34 + 1]) to a stiff one like the PX3 with relation to their pants and knee guard sizing. I tried on a Bauer large pro pant, along with some Warrior Pro+ guards and the PX3s (in 33 + 1.5). For reference, I'm 5'11", ~170 lbs My mobility felt fine, though I had a couple potential issues when performing butterflys on the store carpet, and was hoping for some insight. Sometimes the outer edges of the pant thigh would clip on top of the pad. Also, when getting up from the butterfly, it kind of felt like the knee guards / pant thighs were fighting for position against the PX3 knee block in some fashion. It didn't necessarily impair my mobility, but it did give me a sort of clunky feeling. Is this something that you guys experience at all? Is this just due to the pad stiffness? Should I go for a medium pant instead? Medium fits a lot closer to my current Brian's DX2 pant, but I'd like to go as large as I can for the extra coverage, without sacrificing mobility. I could also have put on the FRS (inner leg channel strapping) way too tight, causing the pad to jockey for position against my knee guards - does anyone with PX3 pads have advice for the proper way to strap them for the optimal comfort level?
