  1. Hey all, looking to get rid of stuff I’m no longer using. Pads and blocker were purchased from The Goalie Crease. I used them for 3 seasons on and off with another set I currently use and then cleaned them for coaching. Loved them while I used them, but no longer need 2 sets. Chest protector has been used for a while, got lots of good use out of it, probably best for someone getting into the sport. Pads: CCM Premier R1.9 34+2 (TGC spec) $350USD Blocker: CCM Premier R1.9 SR $150USD [SOLD] Chest Protector: Bauer S190 SR Large [SOLD] Willing to sell everything for $450 USD together All price’s negotiable I’m located in Buffalo or Toronto so I can ship US and Canada wide or meet local and take USD or CAD Shipping covered by buyer
  2. And yet we chose to live with the consequences hahaha, But i strongly agree, being a tendy chose me
  3. We all chose to be goalies, we were never on the "cheap side" anyways hahaha
  4. Now its a matter of sticking with the supreme family or venturing off to the vapors. Seems like they're both fairly similar in terms of what I'm looking for in a pad.
  5. I did not know that the Cortech was still on the sliding surface of the midlevel gear. Definitely makes me more intrigued to try out a midline level (.9). The one issue I only had with the Supreme One90s was that the soft 100 degree boot (that I loved) got TOO soft and became more like an 80 degree angle. Any shot to the top of the foot shoots right back out to the slot. As a result I tried to find a pad with the complete opposite boot to that (the super stiff 125 degree Premier boot) and discovered that I hate that one even more. Few years later I go back to the old pad.
  6. Somehow missed that post, thanks for linking it! Very in-depth. Definitely got to update us all when the new gear arrives and you go out for a few test drives.
  7. Definitely gonna check them out, thanks Chenner
  8. I also heard the same, that the 1x and 2x line were very similar to the 1s and 2s line, with the 2x receiving the best upgrades. I'm surprised you say the Optiks didn't even compare to the 1s. My wallet would definitely appreciate that suggestion. Does the jenpro face make a big difference compared to the newer faces? Growing up I always went for cheaper gear as I outgrew everything in ~2 seasons, but now that I'm older and can justify buying a pro level pad, would it be worth it?
  9. I once tried on my buddies EF3's and they were everything I hated in a pad: weak rebounds that sat in the slot and super soft core. Even the Premiers I have now with one external and one internal break I find are a bit too soft. Good to learn what I did and didn't like. If you have any insight on the vapor vs supreme line id be interested to know, as I know they are supposed to be Bauer's "flexible" line but compared to other brands they seem harder than most.
  10. I know Bauer has since changed their style of pads for the OD1N line, I just wasn't sure if they've gone "COMPLETELY" different as they seem to promote the same things as the One90s (Light, Hard rebounds, easy sliding, flatter style of pad etc.) but just do it way better. I obviously am not looking at getting the same pad but I want to look into getting a pad that has improved upon that style that I like.
  11. After playing in CCM Premier R1.9s for the past 4-5 years, I went back to my old Bauer Supreme One90s and they feel way better in all aspects of play. Apart from getting soft since they're over 9 years old at this point. Looking for my next set, I want to find something similar to the Bauer Supreme One90s and wanted others opinions on Bauer's new OD1N stuff (supreme or vapor) in comparison to the One90s, as well as other brands to consider. Thanks in advance for your input
  12. With Bettman being the commissioner I don't see Quebec City or Canada for that matter getting a new team any time soon. I keep heating Houston or Kansas City as the next destination of a relocation should a team get tossed out of their arena. The Coyotes have the new arena being built in Tempe so as much as I'd love to see more teams back in Canada I'm not too thrilled about the chances. I do know that the governor of Quebec really wants a team back though so who knows. Money talks.
  13. I've been looking at a Coveted for a few weeks ever since I discovered them. Pretty local to me and seems like a great product!
  14. It's just a small dent near the nose that went inwards. I know its not the best thing to knock the steel back but its small enough and i'll be getting a new cage fairly soon as I've got a few dents on her. Appreciate your input!
  15. 3rd game last night, 6-0 win, only face around 15 shots so not busy at all. Switched back to my old Bauer Supreme One90 Goalie pads and they felt way better than my CCM Premiers. I think its time I make a switch back to Bauer or something similar. Also with a minute left guy took a slapshot from the faceoff dot right to the cage so got a little dent I gotta work out. Anyone else get really bad ear ringing from a direct shot?
  16. Anyone ever have luck untying a bungee cord knot from a pad smart strap? Looking to transfer over my elastic toe ties to my old set
  17. She's really coming together Bunnyman. These posts are making me want to buy a Les Paul even more now
  18. Happens to the best of us, I let in the biggest muffin from the blue line last night that ended up being the deciding goal. Playing in a league with a large variety of skill levels is so strange, some guys got lasers and others go for the high arc shots
  19. My first game back last night after about a year, not terrible. 2-1 win, wasn't particularly busy, but main takeaway is how much I hate my Premier pads and that no amount of off-ice training can replicate on-ice performance.
  20. I did for 2 reasons, 1) to see what went on behind the scenes which the documentary only showed a bit of, and 2) for the comedy of seeing a full documentary end really abruptly due to the leafs doing what they do best. You can really tell in the last 2 episodes that the producers were expecting a second round to film lol. Gotta love the Toronto Maple Laughs
  21. As a Leafs fan myself, yea its pretty funny watching everyone lose it. Definitely have not been watching as much as I normally would with this terrible performance. Although, the panthers have been looking really good
  22. After just around a year of not being on the ice, finally confirmed that my league is starting up again next week. Definitely gonna be rusty but been working on my stretching a whole bunch.
  23. I'll admit to not being religious on the checks but after any ice time with a shot to the head I made sure to check the helmet thoroughly. I definitely kept up with the cleaning of the helmet tho, cant afford the stinky alternative. The sticker was purely a reminder of how long I've had the bucket for and totally agree. I'm not the one to run out and get new gear, but you do only get one brain so when it comes to helmets I'm more proactive on replacements. I have no idea what resin they use on the mask, but the NME 8 I would assume doesn't use the same resin as a pro level mask. With that being said, I might play out this season with the mask since I'm in no rush to spend $400+, and I'm playing in a bit more casual of a league. Thanks for all your inputs
  24. 100% agree, but I'm not sure if the issues I get are from the foams or the shell. And with the bucket being that old, would $100 worth of foam now be more worth it then a new bucket that should last me longer?
  25. Little bump to this thread with a question of my own. With the season starting up soon, I was going through the bag and noticed my helmet's (Bauer NME 8) HECC expired last September. Being a Canadian, we don't use the HECC, but it did make me realize that I bought the mask just over 9 years ago. Apart from the eyeball test, the mask seems fine cosmetically. Only real issues I get is ears ringing on shots to the shell, a small dent on one of the middle vertical bars (cert cateye), and I've only replaced the sweat band on the inside of the mask. So golden question is, should I start looking to replace the mask or look into foams and the like, and will foams help with ringers?
