  1. Looking for clarification here, as True does not currently offer a retail goalie skate. I'm guessing it's old stock, which they briefly made available a few years ago - if that's the case I'd recommend going to Bauer. I wrote a bit about my two piece experience here, and I distinctly remember trying on the 1S before I got my feet scanned...so I'm advocated Bauer over these. Bottom line, loved the fit but had a lot of other issues that eventually helped open my wallet up Still love the one piece skates which I'm currently in (received late summer 2020)
  2. Bauer has a tape offering that might work for you too, but it comes with a Bauer price. https://www.goaliemonkey.com/accessories/stick-accessories/hockey-tape/bauer-goalie-accessories-replaceable-goal-stick-grip-tape.html The tape seems to have a little layer of padding sandwiched in between, I'm guessing to help dampen vibration/impacts
  3. Your old Grafs probably got rounded out after so many years of sharpenings
  4. 20.5" I'm dropping the shin down to a 32 and bumping up the thigh to +2.5 on my next set. Based on the size chart below, I'm adding a half inch overall in height above the knee. Despite the size chart, I honestly fit OK in a 33". Never fallen off the knee block or anything, but there are certain situations where I'm in tight (ie. VH against post; recovery foot in tight for push off) or extended (braking foot after a hard push; deep shot ready stance) - in all these scenarios, I feel like the slightly taller shin is fighting back against me a bit. It's a tough call either way. You could size smaller and wear the FRS tighter to compensate if you go with 31". Keep in mind, it seems the trend amongst pros these days is a shorter shin, more slack at the toe laces, and losing the boot strap to go along with a flexible boot break.
  5. Based on the angle of the thumb plastic, it looks like a 600
  6. That dude with the tinted visor though.
  7. Steel ain’t cheap. If you don’t trust your local guys, I would send them out to get done correctly.
  8. Thanks for the pictures - here is something weird. In inches, you are 22 5/8. If you convert that to cm, you should be at 57.4675....but the tape measure you showed for the cm side says 57.8. We're almost half a cm off on that side. Regardless, a small caps off at 56cm, based strictly on your measurements you should be in a Medium. If I were assisting you with a sale, we would definitely need to unwind it a bit and look at a few things, but since you purchased it from a retailer, I have a few recommendations at this point... Phone the retailer and see what they can do. It's possible they can contact Sportmask to get you another layer of padding to fill some of the negative space in your shell. Get some of your own D3O sheets (that's a link and you can click it) and DIY...rip out all the padding, put the D3O up against the shell and the stock padding on top of that, closest to your face. Take the mask with you to Michel at Protechsport (I believe you are in Quebec, not sure how far you are from him) and see what he recommends...maybe you can purchase some padding from him and fill in the gap yourself. I am pretty sure he's sold padding to people who don't have his mask. Return the mask, bite the wait time bullet and let Michel take care of you. If it were me, and assuming your ReidiC is in good enough condition, I'd go 3/4. If you're close and can make the drive, you probably don't even need to make a mold for Michel, he can just take calipers and get some measurements off your head.
  9. First of all, I do virtual fittings for Sportmask product all the time. You'd be surprised at how many adults (some with advanced degrees) get the measurement wrong the first time, until I ask for a picture with the measuring tape across the temples like I posted above. When we get this measurement corrected, there is a 99% chance it fits perfect out of the box. Let me be clear, there is no judgment except whatever you are perceiving...your situation is in my wheelhouse and I am just trying to help. For there to be that large of a gap between your temples and the padding I highlighted above, two factors would need to check out: 1 - you have an very narrow face, and 2 - your head is significantly longer (front to back) than it is wide (left to right). Mask should not wiggle as you described in a previous post. I'm tempted to recommend a Small, but I want to see the measurement with measuring tape to see exactly what is going on. What size Reidic are you in? What size fitted ball cap do you wear? I can't speak for what's going on at the factory as I'm pretty far down the chain of command, but since you did purchase from a shop I would call them and see what can be done - this is standard procedure for most companies with a retail distributor program.
  10. Sounds to me like this mask is either too big or wide for your facial structure, this is why your nose is grazing the cage. At this point, I'm narrowing it down to a measurement error, or your facial structure is pretty narrow. If you'd like, you can submit a picture like this (left). Note how snug the mask is at the temples (right). You've got a pretty big gap at the temples, maybe 1/2" on each side.
  11. Please answer bolded in my post above and below. Those cheeks look a little loose, but it's hard to tell because the closest shot you gave has the bars in the way. Also provide your crown measurement (straight around the temples, across the forehead) in cm. If you can provide a pic with the tape measure around your head and the numbers clearly visible, even better. What size mask did you purchase? Hard to tell with the angle, but the backplate does look pretty tight in there. Leaning toward the mask being a bit too big for you at the moment. Here is a great reason why you don't want your nose touching the cage...
  12. Per my last post, try loosening up the backplate to see if you can get a little more room. Some guys crank down on the back plate so much, the front of their face gets squished into the mask. Alternatively, it could also be that the mask is a smidge too wide for your face. Maybe look a size down. It's possible your cheeks aren't in optimal contact with the cheek padding. Try putting the mask on, grabbing the cage, and shaking the mask around. Is there movement or does your head go with it? How did you size it, what measurements did you use and how did you measure? Pictures would help. Front, side, and back with the mask on. Tony is not involved at all with sales and service at Sportmask. I'm told he has some input on design and operations, but that's about it.
  13. Your nose should not be touching the cage. Loosen the backplate to see if it improves. If it doesn't you should get a larger size

I'm more interested in that hot sauce...how is it?
  15. The size chart is different for 12.1 and 20.1. FWIW I ordered a 33+1.5” 20.1 and wore a 33+2 EF4. The current 20.1s that I have are a smidge too tall in the shin and a bit too short on the thigh. I’m a 20” FTK as well and am looking at dropping down to a 32” with a +2 or +2.5 on the thigh.
  16. Are you me? I ordered 33+1.5 thinking it would be similar to my 33+2 EF4s. I realized I need to go down to a 32+2 or 32+2.5
  17. Bauer Reactor 6 was my immediate thought (circa 1998?)
  18. Pad rebounds are good. I don't have much hip flexibility so shots are going off to the boards. Blocker wrist mobility is great, board is solid (feels a bit more stiff than EF4). I do kind of miss the D3O index finger protection as a security blanket (haven't taken any shots off the finger yet). Sidewall is the same as EF4
  19. Is that tinge of orange near the navy in the center of the pad intentional or a graphical/rendering error? It actually looks really good as a whole IMO
