With all due respect. Garth was an average career NHL goalie. The gear shenanigans didn't make him superior the other guys playing. He got into the league looking like this:
6'3" 200 lbs. Those pads look like 34" pads and weighed 5x as much as today's 36+2 pads.
Always thought he was interesting in that he used his Flyers colored sticks for a while after he joined the Kings. He had all new gear and a mask painted - but kept using his Flyers sticks. Of all the gear you can change easily, sticks are the easiest.
Obviously he didn't GAF.
He was traded in mid-May 2003. Wasn't like it was trade deadline move. He did eventually move to silver lettered twigs...
I just sent the Carolina Hurricanes an email correcting the fact that they said the Whalers wore Cooperalls. They wore CCMs.
Why? Bothers me to see the Hurricanes use and abuse the Whalers stuff. You steal their team then parade around in their gear? Annoying.
Says he still is. True was making him one rather than go through Heritage like the other guys did. He might be the only one left. Think it was Brian Elliot and Buffalo Sabres goalie Dustin Tokarski in 2021.

Speak for yourself, Fullright... I get a solid 30 seconds of warmups before a game. 20 shots:
15 miss the net,
2 are when I'm not looking,
one slo mo breakaway,
one off the mask
and the one timer pass shot from a defenseman.
Ready to go!
Imagine while taking that picture someone walks in and see you.
What are you doing with your pants pulled down taking a picture of yourself?
It's for the internet, don't worry.
Koho twig too? Looks like a revolution one too. Nice setup.
I'm still using my Canadian made Gatekeepers. They are tanks and held up great. Canadian made gear was amazing...
