  1. I've had Ultrasonic, Hyperlite 1, Mach and now HL2. I prefer the Supreme family. I've only had a couple skates so far with HL2, but rebounds seem to come off noticeably harder and I feel I can direct them better with the Supremes. Skinner board on the HL2 looks cool, and I definitely like the presence of the cuff, but if I were to do it over again, I'd go with the Mach.
  2. Right-clicking the picture links and opening them in a new tab seems to work.
  3. Congrats. And now I'm hungry.
  4. The 580 is pretty iconic so it'll be really cool to see another version of the 580 to compete with the Vapor 90 and CCM 581. The True eclipses the competition though, IMO.
  5. There's a Monkey Sports in Dollard-des-Ormeaux, which is about 15 miles from Montreal. If they're anything like Monkey Sports in the States, they'll carry Warrior.
  6. About 19.5". If I recall correctly, I was landing a little bit low on these.
  7. Not a lot of posts these last couple days so I thought about posting something that I think hasn't been posted before. I've been asked by a couple people what the differences between the Vapor and Supreme TuneFit Connect (aka professor straps) were. Pics below. The grey straps are the Supreme version, pulled from my Machs. The red straps are the Vapor version, pulled from my Hyperlite2s. The short velcro tabs are the ends that loop through the anchor points that are built into the pad. As you can see, the Supremes have a buckle, while the Vapors are velcro only, but slightly padded. The padding on the Supremes is very thin. Here is the Vapor attached to the pad. Here is the Supreme attached to the pad.
  8. Hello friends, For sale is a pair of CCM HPG14C John Gibson Anaheim Ducks pro return goalie pants in the reverse retro colorway. Looking for $375 shipped CONUS. Shipping from California. NHL teams pay approximately $450~ for these pants. These pants are custom made for John Gibson. His name is embroidered on the inside of the left belt flap. These are a Fit 3 (approximately XL) and have been inspected by Kay Whitmore. The pants are BRAND NEW and have NEVER been used. There is a tag still attached from the factory. These pants were made in Canada and owing to the unique colorway and whatever Gibson's specs are, these pants are likely one of maybe three or four ever built. Anyone who has ever used a NHL-spec CCM HPG pant knows how much of a step up they are over the pro-level retail stuff. You don't see a lot of Canadian-made CCM pants these days, either. Also posted to SLS if you prefer to do business through there: https://sidelineswap.com/gear/hockey/goalie/goalie-pants/6562398-ccm-hpg14c-gibson-reverse-retro-pro-returns-new-with-tags-fit-3 But you can save some dough and deal with me directly here. I accept Paypal Goods and Services so you will be protected on your purchase.
  9. I think most 580s on SLS right now may actually be custom made for the Pros, with builds and specs that we cannot get through normal retail channels. This is the first year we can order the Vapor 90 through retail, I'm not sure many of those have hit SLS yet.
  10. https://www.instagram.com/reel/CsmXKE-s-7e/?igshid=MzRlODBiNWFlZA== This video makes it sound like they are stocking some on the shelf?
  11. Haven't seen 'em yet, but on paper? 100%.
  12. Looks like the new GSX pad is starting to roll out: https://www.thegoaliecrease.com/product/bauer-s23-gsx-sr-goal-pads/ https://www.hockeyworld.com/BAUER-GSX-Goal-Pads-Sr-23
  13. I e-mailed him an hour or so ago re: a refurbish job at his protechsport AT Gmail DOT com account and got a reply thirty minutes later. His replies come from a different e-mail address - PM me and I can send that to you.
  14. IIRC they ship it air. My set has a build date of May 2023, so I think they can assemble and ship pretty quick. Never used McKenney, so I can't comment on that, but this feels like a 580 but with a couple twists. Havrnt used these yet, but a True 580 does seem to feel superior from my out of the box comparison.
  15. Yep, Pro and Pro Custom are both made in Thailand for years now. The goalie gear has made in Thailand stickers and the box has "Cortina" tape which is the factory in Thailand.
  16. US. Sadly, Bauer custom is made in Thailand.
  17. Paid on 4/11 but had originally submitted my order 3/24. There was a mixup with my order form that caused a delay in payment. They might have bumped my order up. It's just over 7 weeks since I paid, or 10 weeks since the order was submitted.
  18. MEAN. Here's the set. Vapor 90 vs True 580. Note the differences in the shape of the cuff, steepness of the thumb, location of the tee, shape of the fingers/palm.
  19. Came home after work and saw a box at the door that had some telltale tape on it. I knew exactly what it was...
