  1. Are they goalie cut? Most goalie cuts begin at 58G AFAIK.
  2. Looks like Bauer might be doing something like this now! EDIT: Screenshot is from PureGoalie.com
  3. A True 33 should be a little smaller than XL US. I was in a S US and I think a 32 True would be a more appropriate fit. Per the sizing charts, a 33 True should fit a FTK of 20-20.5". Meanwhile the Bauer size chart indicates a XL pad should be around 21.5 to 22.5". Thanks guys. It seems like it might be some sort of muscle injury to the scalenes or brachial plexus area. Being in certain positions causes my hands to get weak/tingle. It's not painful, just very odd and disconcerting.
  4. You in Sweden now? Did you take your Warrior set too? Your goalie partner must be so jelly of your gear...

  6. If you work in the pro shop that sells equipment, ask your boss about it. Bauer University is the website for employee education for Bauer gear. Completing the modules unlocks employee discounts. Endvr is a similar thing, but is a mobile app on your phone. CCM and True use it for their employee education and there were some substanial discounts for True a couple months back.
  7. Does your rink sell Bauer? Are you on Bauer University? Does your rink sell True or CCM? Are you on ENDVR?

  9. Nice! Similar, but spiky-er! You can see some of the spikes on Shesterkin's set above as well as another set of spikes he didn't use.
  10. LMAO. Holy shit, what a fail. A teaser/consolation prize for visitors of the thread:
  11. New line for 2023 called the ICONIK. Picture by Goalie Gear Nerd on Instagram Got to play with the customizer a bit, graphic looks great!
  12. GoaliesPlus is having a clearance sale. Use code PRESEASON to get 20% off. They've got some pro returns items there and some unique colors on stock items. Good hunting!
  13. ZeroGravitas

    SOLD

Congrats on sale. Thread is now locked.
  14. Could even mount a roller goalie chassis on it!
  15. FWIW, I think all of the True customs don't have that tag. I think it was only a thing during the last couple years of their time with CCM. Off-the-shelf (overseas) retail has the break angle embroidered on it.
  16. Pics of a single tee True 580, single tee Vapor 90 (kinda irrelevant here) and a double tee CCM 580. Note the location of the tee and where it meets the palm.
  17. I'm pretty certain that's the 590. I'm not a Lefevre guru like others who can tell just by the lacing, but it lacks the characteristic fold as pointed out by @coopaloop1234, part of which is because the tee should be anchored more to the right (when looking at it head on), and not in-line with the vertical lace.
  18. You're right that social media means a lot of sets will be seen, but I think it's one thing to see a set on social media and think, "Oh wow, that looks great!" and another to spend an hour or two on a customizer and dialing in the colors of your own set - especially if they can have retro ones that are pre-made and ready for a customer to throw some color on there. I think it lessens a barrier to entry and creates the seed of an idea in a potential customer's head, "This will be mine!" I think it's a little short-sighted of CCM - it can't be that expensive to put together a customizer for one or two set graphics is it?
  19. What was the custom design process like? Similar to the Bauer process? Would you say your process is similar to what a retail customer goes trough? Any hopes of CCM offering a library of older CCM/Heaton/Koho designs? Tell them to call it the "Heritage Collection" and make online customizers! I think this would get a lot more people looking at CCM gear. They can start with really popular retro designs - Potvin, 580, Heaton 10, etc. Maybe roll out additional designs throughout the years...
  20. If you end up getting a 8.5 Fit 3 Elite, it will have a size 9 holder and will require the size 9 steel, in which case your old steel would not fit. But 8.5 Fit 2 and Fit 1 will have the size 8 holder. Same goes with the Ultrasonic. If you keep the same length (8.5) but move up to the EE width, you'll now be in a size 9 holder and your old steel will not fit. D width will be compatible with your old steel.
  21. The Ultrasonics might fit slightly differently from 3S based on the stiffness of the boot's materials and the foams/liners used on the inside. Depending on how the skate fits your foot, a stiff skate might not be quite as comfortable out of the box because the additional padding and stiff shell might not be as comfortable on and against your foot.
  22. Basically, stiffness has to do with the shell of the skate. Give your 3S a squeeze and it's probably not too difficult to make it bend a little. Try that with a stiff skate like the Ultrasonic or some True Customs and you will feel the difference. The idea behind stiff skates is that the stiffness allows you to transfer more power from your movements and pushes through the skate and into the ice. translating to a stronger push/slide/cut. A soft skate would theoretically transfer less power because the energy from your movement is absorbed by the softer/flexible material of the boot. Skate boots that are stiff are generally made from higher-end composites/fibers that will react more to heat molding, allowing better fit to your foot and also being able to retain its shape longer over time. People who have own Trues, or at least heat molded them have felt how pliable they get when heated up and how they really form to your foot after baking. Take a look at player skates, where there are more price points. The bottom price point skates are generally made from plastic or even nylon-type materials that won't mold or retain it's shape when heated up, and the top-end are composite/carbon skates that are super stiff. Give 'em a squeeze and you'll see. With goalie, there are less price points so the differences are not quite as radical.
