  1. What areas are specifically bulkier do you feel? Shoulder floaters for sure - with the lack of segmentation i'd bet.
  2. For some reason last year before I burnt the Warrior Chest protector into oblivion (jk i threw on scrap parts and donated it to a ball hockey goalie), there was actually a video done explaining every piece of it.
  3. Hyperlite 2 / Vapor 90 Catch Glove Video from Spring 2023.... just uploaded. Side note: We're doing Bauer Shadow video tonight, we swear it won't take a year to upload this time.
  4. Review from last Spring finally uploaded. I am now fully aware 99% of what I was describing was off-screen.
  5. Going to necro this post too. Recorded last spring... don't worry we'll get a G7 video up soon. @Lemieux
  6. Some video backlog was finally finished up by @Lemieux... this is from Spring 2023. Vaughn V10:
  7. Gross. I actually have a year round shinny that goes something crazy like 48 or 49 weeks of the year, so pretty much I rarely have any weeks without hockey. August in Vancouver without hockey sounds sweltering. You should start a beach hockey club at English Bay.
  8. By the time June hits I'll be 1/3 of the way into Summer season already! (Winter season is September to April, summer season is May to August).
  9. It's been awhile since I've won anything.
  10. Humongous beeg price
  11. Wasn't in Machs (but have worn Sr S Machs), but was in Sr S in GSX (same boot/fit as a Supreme line pad), and in a Hyperlite briefly, went 32+2 in Catalyst.
  12. It's art sir. Art. I'd be interested in getting my hands in some Kenesky arms (literally). Problem with the CCM arms is the mesh/nylon they use. I've come across 4 different sets of CCM Premier pro arms at this point and they all have the same wear/tear at the top of the inner bicep.
  13. I believe it was the other week I was somewhat lamenting over in the "Show Off Your Action Photos" thread that I wasn't quite fully matching... or at all for that matter. In any case, I took some steps to rectify that. Still not "fully" matching, but I can't quit Warrior catchers.
  14. League had a photographer out at one of our games this season. This rink being inside a mall. Massive sweatbox. My mismatched gear sorta bothers me, but at the same I don't care.
  15. Easy solution but not perfect I've tried is similar to what TRUE has done on 20.2/PX3 - a Nylon knee strap in lieu of the elastic strap. On my Bauer GSX I opened up and stitched everything a bit tighter with extra jenpro reinforcement to achieve a *slightly* stiffer block.
  16. Doesn't make sense to me to pay $1400-$1500CAD for a second price point pad. Actually $2000+ off the shelf pro pads don't make sense to me either. In both cases why not just spring a bit more for custom.
  17. It's also better than the SFS special editions we get north of the border where they will stiffen up the pad more. That goaliesplus spec sounds amazing but with shipping and conversion to Canada it's a non-starter for us north of the border.
  18. It does a bit over time. Yes. I had this issue trying a pair in store, but I now own a used pair (from the OP himself no less) and I haven't had any issues.
  19. I personally would not look too hard at the V10s if you're looking for the softest pad ever. It's a fair bit stiffer from the knee up from it's predecessors, and while thinned out still felt "chunkier" than the competition. V9s would be a good option to look into though if you want that traditional Vaughn feel and play.
  20. Time to revive this old post. 1st - Posts from Hockey Shop of Horrors here, highly reccomend his work. https://www.facebook.com/permalink.php?story_fbid=pfbid0yPFVnY3dtFxxz7rjFAFD3h7LJ5NrMhjd5qsFgw8jmSep2jUQm2grk1EDagmKEcrjl&id=100073726163483&device_id=6db6dfe6-194f-4e3e-abde-2ca30a9338ee Detailed desciption - got a McKenney body from a buddy here - and decided to add the warrior parts i loved. Ended up hating the body as it was too large for me still Traded the body away for some black steel for my skates that are still waiting to be profiled and sharpened. The arms? Oh my goodness they are fantastic - very heavy, but very beefy. These are the CCM AB500 arms i've had on there forever with some McKenney floaters, and all of the beef ups as described in the link above. 2nd - So - keeping those arms, I had the leftover parts body, which I installed the neck and heart guard off of a Vaughn vision. Can't give this warrior body up - i'm at the point where I keep getting bruised up in this unit. Used it like this for the last 6 months or so. Added extra shoulder caps and a row of belly blocks to beef up this unit. 3) Scored a used CCM Pro Medium off FB Marketplace for $100 CAD. Not bad, not great, not terrible. CCM Premier arms, wow they are stiff. Now I am reminded why my original arms (which are CCM) have lost their original elbow floaters. Anyways, easy fix - throw my modded to hell and back arms on. Now I do want to do a few things - these arms are actually a wee bit long on me still - so i'd like to shorten the arms and change the attachment style to what most modern c/a with removable arms use (velcro strap) and the white colour on the mckenney floaters are too ... stand out there. Any suggestions on dyes, or paints? Thinking of finding some fabric paint to black it out ... thoughts? EDIT: If i hate how huge these CCM floaters present themselves, then you bet you'll see the return of the Warrior shoulder floaters.
  21. Just got to take a peek at them here at a local shop. It has the thinned out profile matching the X5 pro and Hyp2rlite. On both the black and white pads, the backing is mostly non-white, which is good to avoid those post stains, amongst others. Knee block - stabiliflex, very stable with a bit of give. Didn't notice any major difference than on higher tiers. Calf - This is quite flexy vs even the X5 Pro that also does not have the brackets. You also won't get a giant calf pillow like the others. Pretty much the same leg channel and knee wing design as on the original GSX. OG Tune Fit here with attachment to the outside of the wrap, unlike on higher tiers where it's attached inside the leg channel a la the Professor strap. All nylon affair here. Boot - stiffer than X5 Pro/HL2. Relatively soft, close to that of M5/Mach. As with my GSX it'll likely soften up a bit over time, but will never be quite as soft as the X5 Pro/HL2. Same boot angle as the supreme, so not flat. EDIT: Oh yes, sliding material is Cortech, and face of the pad is likely some form of PU.
  22. Potential review from @Lemieux coming up. Also to show off stuff that's actually ours... Side by side Protechsports, mine on the left.
