Hey, Which model is this mask? I also have an Otny and have not had a moment's issue with it. I may need to replace the foam but that's about it. I got a spare cage when I bought it but so far have not needed it. I am wondering if the materials in the mask are different from the one I have.

Hey all, Looking into replacing the palm in my blocker. I was wondering how difficult this is. For informational purposes, I am comfortable sewing, repairing and modifying my own equipment. It might not look overly pretty but I can do it. I have attached pictures of how my palm currently looks as a reference. My blocker is a Vaughn V3 7500 and the palm was replaced by Sara at PAW last time (5 years ago). Is there anything I need to be aware of? Are there any replacement palms that are better than others? I see there are more people modifying blockers to make use

We had our first ice time this Thursday. It was interesting. We had to start getting ready in the parking lot, no bags are allowed in the rink. Once inside, skaters would put on their skates, gloves and helmet while goalies pretty much put on everything past the pants. That was definitely a different experience for sure. It would have been nice to at least have 10 chairs in the lobby but as it is a small entry space I can understand why this did not happen. We were only allowed 2 goalies and 8 skaters which made for a lot of ice time for everyone. Once we hit the ice it was

I received a text from the administrator of my team. I got invited to a summer team or at least a shinny session. Only thing is I will need to wait until the rink opens up. It will be interesting to see how this will look. I am still hoping that everything will be all cleared up by September/October and we can resume our regularly scheduled ice times. To anyone currently on ice, stay safe and to those chomping at the bit to be back, also stay safe and keep limber.

Yeah. I was thinking about doing something similar to that but just have not gotten around to it. (Plus funds have been tight) Tried the cage corners for the dangler at one point but never liked it. It always felt like the dangler was miles away from my throat and not really protecting anything. But that was just my experience.

I have attached a pic to show why there is skate lace through the ear holes. I am very aware that there is a lot of material. That is why I was posting on here asking for suggestions. Apparently my head is not conducive to goalie mask shell shape.

I didn't either. I bought it well used about two years ago. The colours are not my favourite but they don't effect performance so I still wear it.

I will let you know when I am getting ready to replace it. It is super comfy.

Spent the last couple of days cleaning all my equipment!

Over the years I have worn Vaughn, Edge, Brian's, Battram and Passau. If I needed to switch I would look at either another Passau or a Kenesky. I have not had much trouble with my Passau even though it has been "well worn" and used by a semi-pro goalie prior to me acquiring it. If I remember the details correctly it is a gen 1 chest with gen 2 arms. I love this thing. Although I also would not mind trying out a Kenesky.

Thank you for that information. I was not aware that burning the ends would not accomplish anything.

Hey @SaveByRichter35, Thank you for the reply. Yeah I was looking at those but wonder if it would be the same grade of elastic strap. The Pro's Choice may be an option. The problem that I will likely always have is the attachment to the backplate. Pretty much any straps I get will need to be cut and have a small hole to accommodate the attachment to the backplate. I don't know of too many companies out there making straps in this configuration.

Hey all, My Otny needed new straps as the originals lost the majority of their stretch. This was mostly because of age. For Christmas my wife bought me some new straps from Goalieparts and after my last ice time one of them had unraveled pretty bad. I may be able to make it usable by cutting and burning the ends but they seem much thinner than the originals. My question is, who makes the best replacement straps? I am completely willing to buy a set and cut them to the proper length. I just want a set that seem like they will last a good while. I am holding out hope that these will
