Same mentality I have with Warrior products. I get they're a very divisive product and I don't fault anyone for not liking them.
I judge them though.
I still can't get past the "douche-font" that Warrior used to use to appeal to the MMA/UFC Crowd, making sure they got every goalie who had a barb-wire tattoo around their bicep.
Yeah, I judge too.

My trapper is a Heaton HeLite 6... so that will give some indication as to how long I have been using it....

Comrie has always reminded me of a little kid dressing up in his dad's oversized 90's era suit.
Corey Crawford always made me think that.

Random piece of useless information... when I saw you call the thread Quick Stop, it took me back DECADES.... Scoff's Hockey Shop used to be called Quick Stop Skate Shop.

Adding more to this "geezer" thread...
What defunk gear brand would you brink back to use if you could? It can be more than one and go as detailed as you want.
I would love to bring back my Eagle PMW1 pads and TB10 blocker and TT10 glove. Lite like air but still old school looking. Next I would bring back my Heaton Helite Pro Z pads and modify the landing area like I wanted back then but never got to. Finally I would love to own again the Jofa/Bourdon trapper with the outside finger stalls. It was a heavy glove but a real vacuum and looked bad ass.
I had one of those Jofa trappers. Heavy as hell, and you felt EVERY shot that did not go in the pocket. My hand was numb after every practice with it.
Defunt, I would bring back Eddy Masks, the Titan Injection sticks, pretty much anything Heaton, and Tackla Pro Keeper pants.

I play with 4 different teams/groups. 3 of them I rotate the gear through so it matches the team. The 4th I mix and match because the jerseys are Brown, Baby Blue, and White - so I try to throw in as many colours as possible.
This works well because I use the older gear which tends to take a little longer to dry (real leather, not synthetics) so I am usually not using the same pieces on back to back nights.
The only pieces that do not rotate are jock, clavicle guard, and mask.
Full disclosure: I have 5 sets of pads (all 34" Vaughn Vision 3500's circa 1995) 5 trappers, 5 blockers. 3 c/a, 2 pants plus a pant shell, 3 pairs of skates

@Naz, you're a monster (meant in the best possible way) and dont let Colander lead you astray: he can play.
@chile57, aspercreme works good but I've had great results with IcyHot Extra Strength - you cant feel a thing
@Wonder35, I agree in that I have no idea what a butterfly pad means either; I thought we are supposed to use the stick blade to close the 5 hole. As if I dont really feel bad about myself already, one building wont let me skate with my full face mask and the kid at the sharpening station looked at me like I had 3 eyes when I asked whether he knew how to flat ground my skates.
Like you gentlemen, I hope to keep going until I cant. You have my admiration.
@Fullright yeah, I've seen Colander in action, played with him on Sunday nights last year!
@Wonder35 no butterfly pads for me either!! Vaughn Vision 3500's circa 1996 for me, I have 4 pairs of them!

Tough crowd. At the start of the thread Bunny (RIP) let in a 37 year old. That's quite a feat if you're crankier than Bunny was at his crankiest back to the GSBB days. Besides - tell my hairline and Aspercremed knees that youngster line.
Well, to be fair, I had a major heart attack at 43, so yeah, you're in!

I still have him, if anyone wants him. I think it would be great to get him on the move again!!

Scaling back this year. Last year played 6 times per week, including back to back Thursday night/Friday morning that were both higher caliber. At 51 years old, and shitty knees, it became more of a chore than enjoyable by about January. Will keep playing Thursday nights, and Sunday nights. That's enough days off for my body to recover.

Interestingly, the ones that came to mind for being outside the normal all got named throughout the thread.
Palmateer ( @RichMan look on YouTube for "Showdown" clips vs Bossy etc)
Ranford - almost an evolution of Palmateer how he would explode into saves
Hrudey - dude had some weird moves
Gibson - definitely pulls out old school moves. Kinda looks like a modern street hockey goalie.
Price had some tendencies. He was technically sound, but also very good at scrambling and going outside the butterfly box to make the save
As mentioned, some of the Russian goalies deviate from the structure of the technique. I think it's because the technique is taught to them later, after they have developed their own instincts to stop the puck in any way shape or form.
