    Team Pics

Doesn't every county in every state in all of the United States have a Johnstown AND a Jamestown? And a Springfield. Seems like it anyways to this Canadian, from the country where a Football league with only 9 teams had 2 teams named the Roughriders.
  2. Holy shit, look how loose the skin is at the top of the right (our left) pad!!! Pisspoor quality control there
  3. A Cougar, when they were still in Victoria. The last year of a winning team in Victoria. I only got into a few games, rode the pine as a 17 year old backup for about 2 months when Wade Flaherty got hurt.
  4. Nice and proper use of eh! yes, this was way back in the day... the 88/89 Season for me. I think it was about 94 or so that they stopped using that arena altogether. Tight corners that the zamboni couldn't even get into, suuuuuper steep stands that felt like the fans were right on top of you, and LOUD!!!
  5. I miss the old Mercer Street arena where the Thunderbirds used to play. That was probably the most intimidating arena I have ever played in as a visiting team.
  6. So, I am only 3 years late in getting back to this.... Tucked, with lace from pants tied into loop. 2 wraps of sock tape around torso keeps it nice and snug and in place. Suspenders over top.
  7. Yep, they basically just kept the roof and are completely rebuilding everything under it
  8. Glenn Miller is definitely actively producing gear. He will build his traditional pads, also the blocker and trapper he produced in the late 80's. Glenn will also do reproductions of the iconic Cooper GM21 trapper and Cooper blocker, also will do the Jofa Bourdon blocker. He is reachable by private message on Facebook. @husainjc, yes by the time your friend worked there Glenn was gone and Miller gear was being designed and produced by Paul Fricker (the owner of the original GSBB). Glenn WAS involved in Miller in Surrey (actually Delta) when they started up that operation in about 1986 and made the Berthiaume pads there, also pads for Kirk McLean, Richard Brodeur, Alan Bester. I had one of the first sets of pads he made when he came west from Michigan. Got a skate cut on the toe roll within a week, so went to see him at the factory in Delta and sat and talked gear with him while he fixed the pad. He is truly a master craftsman.
  9. I actually do the finger curl on purpose when breaking in a glove. Have done so for over 30 years. It lets me grip the stick better when playing the puck.
  10. You could Private Message Ed on Facebook. He is active on there producing retro goalie tshirts and mugs. He may offer some suggestions.
  11. Doesn't Canadian Tire own the Louisville name, in addition to Sher-Wood?
  12. If you have gone up 1.5 inches in paddle height, it definitely changes your technique
  13. I know a few guys on the Vintage Goalie Equip group on FB use it to make Cooper decals for SK2000 helmets
  14. yup, the goal mask. In the side view, he is looking through the bars one level down from where it should be sitting. He looks like every WHL goalie from a few years back in their ill-fitting Bauer masks
  15. WTF, CCM actually produced an ad with the mask sitting that poorly?

  17. When was the last time both goalies in a game had the Iceberg graphic?

    Bootstrap or Not ?

I put both boot straps of my Vaughn Vision 3500's through the same hole. Crank 'em both right down as well.
  19. Hell, a foreward would get laughed out, nevermind a goalie
  20. The Brian's Altra 750 would like a word with the 590.
  21. Saw Anderson play for Washington a few days ago in relief. I think Halak got a shutout the other day.
  22. This one hit home for me. I was 3 years into my 20 year hiatus from hockey when my daughter was born. She had seen old VHS from my Junior days, and had always wanted to see me play in person. It was one of the highlights of my life to see how thrilled she was to finally watch me play when I got back on the ice. Maybe a year away from the game could be good for you. All I can say, is never give it up completely. And, stay involved here! It keeps your mind in the game, and your input is always awesome. Besides, I don't think I could handle @coopaloop1234 missing you...
  23. Annnnd I instantly felt REALLY old... I was 17 in 88. Moog was actually one of my idols from the time he started with the Oilers. Moog wore an SK2000 in those Olympics with the Itech shield. Burke wore the Bubble Cage.
