  1. Nope, wayyy before his time. It was a player helmet with the 1988 Olympic team (Moog and Burke were the goalies). Ozzy hadn't even played his first year of Junior yet LOL
  2. LOL. My post entries and exits are horrible. But I actually am a really good skater in my gear.
  3. yet, have you ever watched him skate? Simply horrible! I watched him skate to the bench on a delayed penalty and it was painful to watch.
  4. Could be? Price switched back to his Graf cowlings a few times.
  5. Padding is wearable, although I should replace it. Had another member graciously offer me another cage! OTNY does make replacements, but they are over $100. This one looks like it was bent back into shape several times, and then painted with Liquid Paper LOL
  6. Picked this beauty up the other day. Cage is thrashed so will get a new one. But the helmet is in great shape. Helmet is from the 1988 Canadian Olympic team.
  7. gawd I hate waffleboards that have no binding. It looks so incomplete. LOVE the original Vaughn font though.
  8. Was anyone else surprised to see Demko move away from Brian's? He has been using Brian's gear for a loooong time. Surprised to he went to CCM and not hopping on the True-train.

    Equipment bag thread

Back to regular programming... I have a JRZ carry bag that is HUGE (my pads go in it and there is still room) and it is VERY durable. No tears, no seams ripping, no zipper issues, handles are still firmly attached. Previously I had a Brown bag that lasted 20 years, so can't go wrong there either.

  11. Fixed that for ya. DaveBarf template: Team logo coming off corner of the cage window. Team city or name written down the centre of forehead. Number or nickname on chin of mask. Clutter up the rest of the mask with little details/"effects".
  12. Wonder, you are in Kelowna are you not? Do you know any of the Asshats that went to Alberta and fucked it up for the rest of us? If so, please kick the shit out of them.
  13. Panorama, Archie Browning, Pearkes, and QCentre. Haven't played Westhills since the summer. All my sessions are still going at this point.
  14. Ha! I play up to 6 times a week. These old gloves take longer to dry, so I always have dry mitts to use.
  15. My glove collection. All pieces are used regularly except the Vaughn trapper, not a fan of that one.
  16. The topic is about the toe, not the heel.

    Lefevre going solo

Dryden wore Cooper pads and trapper, and alternated between Cooper blocker and Bourdon blocker. Fuhr broke into the league wearing Koho pads, Koho trapper and Brown blocker. Then went on to wear Brown pads with CCM mitts. Then moved to all CCM gear. Then was in his D&R setups before moving back to Brown, and finally that Franklin stuff. Smitty was mostly Koho pads with CCM blocker and Cooper, sometimes CCM trappers. He briefly used Brown pads towards the end of his career. I am old.

    New Team, Old Gear

Absolutely stupid that he did not even have skins for his pants. But damn, I love that setup.
  19. Recently picked up these 2 blockers to go with my setup.
  20. puck bunnies will be Krak-whores
  21. The more I see of the Kracken jersey, the more it makes me think of this Canucks' jersey
  22. @Dumpy , I'll be honest, the only book I read was Jacques Plante's book. And the only video I watched was Andy Moog's.... through the years I did observe the styles of Moog, Hextall, Kirk Mclean to pick up on certain moves in situations. I am NOT the modern butterfly AT all... if you watch old youtube videos of Stephane Fiset, that is very close to my style. Sorry I'm not much help as I am mostly self taught. Oh, I also read Vic Lemire's "Goaltenders Are Not Targets"
  23. I will add another. Do you have any scars from Lawn Darts? Have you yelled at kids to get off your front lawn? Mostly, do you grunt/groan whenever to sit down, or get up? Welcome!
  24. sadly, once it tears a little, it can tear a little more. Something as simple as rolling over in bed while you sleep, if your foot does not move completely with the rest of the leg, it can torque it a bit and tear a bit
